Last week Sandy, Scott and Gavin rode one of our favourite routes, a big loop over the Corrieyairack Pass from Fort Augustus and the Burma Road from Aviemore.

Interestingly, we were on three completely different bike setups and three different tyre choices, all three were equally capable of handling a ride like this!

Sandy was riding the Trek Check-OUT , a full suspension gravel bike, the ultimate bike for long days off road. Efficient on any surface and capable of carrying loads of gear. Rolling on 2.1”Continental Race Kings and a Shimano GRX 1x12 mechanical drivetrain.

Scott was on his Specialized Epic Hardtail with drop bars! Drop bars on a mountain bike is a controversial choice but there’s no denying it is fun to ride. Running XC race tyres in the 2.4” Vittoria Peyotes and SRAM Rival/GX transmission drivetrain.

Gavin was on his Specialized Crux. An outright super light gravel race bike with 50mm Schwalbe G-One RX Pro tyres and a Shimano GRX Di2 1x12 drivetrain.

Maximum comfort, power and range. ⚡️

The new Trek Diamant Suvea Style 800 is the top-tier choice for riders who want an e-bike that can do it all with ease.

Powered by Bosch’s Performance Line CX motor and paired with a huge 800Wh battery, the Suvea Style 800 is built for longer rides, bigger adventures and effortless everyday riding.

It combines the ultra-clean feel of a belt drive with low-maintenance Enviolo shifting for smooth, quiet and reliable performance in all conditions.

Smart cargo and security features add even more practicality, making it just as capable for commuting and carrying gear as it is for weekend exploring.

Comfortable, powerful and incredibly versatile — this is premium e-bike riding done properly.

Less than two weeks to go until Etape Loch Ness… 👀

Now’s the time to give your bike a proper once-over — and tyres should be right at the top of your list. They’re one of the most important parts of your setup for a big day out. Grip, comfort, puncture protection… it all starts where the rubber meets the road.

We’ve got a great range of Vittoria tyres in stock, and we’re here to help you choose the right option for your ride — plus we can get them fitted and dialled in for you.

Our pick for the event? Vittoria Corsa Pro Control in 32mm. Fast, grippy, and with a bit more confidence on less-than-perfect roads — ideal for the Highlands.

Pop in for advice, a tyre check, or a fresh set before the big day.

Meet the Trek Checkpoint+ — gravel, but with a quiet advantage ⚡

This is everything you love about the Checkpoint, just with a subtle boost that opens up bigger days, tougher routes, and more time enjoying the ride.

Powered by the TQ motor, the magic is how unnoticeable it feels:
• Ultra-quiet — no buzz, no distraction, just the sound of your tyres on gravel
• Lightweight — keeps that natural, playful ride feel
• Smooth support — no surge, just perfectly timed assistance when you need it
• Efficient — more range for proper adventure days

It doesn’t turn your ride into something else — it just gives you a bit more of everything. More climbs. More miles. More fun.

Perfect for Highland gravel, mixed terrain exploring, or just making sure the ride home is as good as the ride out.

Available now at Bikes of Inverness — come take it for a spin 👀
