The name was trademarked in 1996 by a Glasgow businessman and when it was put up for sale in 2002, it was purchased by two supporters determined to preserve its integrity and prevent it being sold as a marketing tool to an English newspaper or a German sportswear firm. To date, they’ve used the name to raise tens of thousands of pounds for good causes - including £53,000 for the BBC’s ‘Children in Need’ charity via a live recording of “Loch Lomond” with the “Tartan Army” at Hampden Park, Glasgow and the band Runrig. www.tartanarmy.co.uk was launched in 2019, is based in Scotland and is supplied by Scottish companies. The new rebrand took place in 2021 during the Covid19 lockdown. It pledges to continue its heritage of supporting Scotland, supporting Scottish businesses and supporting Scottish charities.

Japan Ferry Gig !!!

There are still some tickets available for the Ferry Gig on Saturday 28th March, Doors will open at 11am for alcohol refreshments…. 🍺entertainment is with the Legendary Ted Christopher 🎶🍺 and the Famous Highlander Davy Holt !! 🎶 🥃 Tickets are priced £4 per person which you can book on this link.. https://www.the-ferry.co.uk/gigguide/october.html or from www.tickets-scotland.com Please note that under 18’s are permitted as long as accompanied by an Adult ! Food is also available…. and buses direct to Hampden can be booked on arrival at the Gig via reception, priced £5 one way per person…. On a First come, First served basis ! Buses will leave for the stadium at approx. 3-30pm ! Gus the tartan army DJ will be on duty playing all our favourite tunes too…. 🎶🍺
