Rosemount came together last night at Orange Tree House to reflect on the season just concluded.
It was a difficult season for the 1sts, unfortunately ending in relegation, while under the 2nds, new manager Stevie Hollinger brought back enjoyment and smiling faces to the team as they solidified in mid table.
Onto the awards
1st Team - presented by Alderman Robert Adair
Manager's player - A well deserved award for a player that stuck by the club when everyone else left, a massive miss for most of the 24/25 season due to a meniscus tear, the ultimate teammate, Manager's player is Dillon Turnbull
Player's player - It is a high honour to be chosen by your teammates as the best player at the club, but this one was truly well deserved, a player who the manager tried to sign a number of times before he signed this summer - Blake Bickerstaff
Supporter's player - We constantly talk about how good our supporters are, travelling all over the place to watch Rosemount, to win this award shows a consistent level of performance home and away, a well deserved winner - Kristian Trainor
Young Player - When the management came in, the idea of stabilising the club and bringing in a younger squad was high on the priority list, this is an award for a player who, at only 21 plays with a maturity beyond his years, and is a great vice captain and leader - Kristian Trainor
Top Scorer - A player who had many great seasons with Rosemount, joining initially in 1C and has played at every level of intermediate football with Rosemount, winning leagues and helping us reach cup finals, he was also last seasons top scorer - Scott Shannon
Onto the 2nd Team awards presented by Cllr. Pete Wray UUP
Manager's player - Stevie took on the post of 2nd team assistant at the start of this season before stepping up to the managers role for the last 7 games, this is a player who nearly left at the start of the season, but the management wanted to keep him and its clear to see why - Manager's player is Louis Cafolla.
Player's player - An award that as mentioned before, is a high honour to be chosen by your teammates, a player that the club is going to hang their hat on for the future, a young lad making saves that wouldn't look out of place in the premier league, if he isnt keeping cleansheats he is certainly keeping the scores down on bad days throughout the season - Zach McAvoy
Young Player - As discussed in the 1st tean awards, this is a huge award to win given the entire club transitioning to younger players, this lad is one, who as mentioned before, the club is hanging their hat on for the future, one of the best young keepers in the amateur league - Zach McAvoy
Supporters Player - A player who is an 8/10 every week for the 2nds, a great leader in this squad of young players, a great captain and teammate - Oliver Mason
Top Goalscorer(s) - Its rare that top scorer is shared, the 2nds have struggled for goals at times but these 2 players lead the line and will no doubt be relied on for goals next season - Aaron Currie and Louis Cafolla
Last but by no means least - The Clubman of the Year, presented by Gerard Bell. This is an award given to someone who goes above and beyond for the club, someone who supports the club near and far, who steps up whenever there is a job to do, who in his own words, says "I dont know what id do without Rosemount", Mr Rosemount himself- Kurtis Browne
