- We are actively inviting experienced players from current school years 7 and 8 to join our U14 team for next season (and beyond!).
- We compete in Durham County Basketball Association (DCBA) Local League.
- We train every Tuesday 6-7:30pm in Chester Le Street.

Come and talk to us if any of the following applies to you!
- You're a competitive player looking for a new team and/or a fresh start.
- You've outgrown CVL.
- You've been unsucessful in "trials" for Academy teams.

Spaces are limited! Please register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

At Vipers Basketball, we know that mental health is just as important as physical health.

That’s why, during Mental Health Awareness Week (Monday 11th May – Sunday 17th May), we’re proud to support the work being done through Out & About With Nick in partnership with the TyneMet League.

Launched by TyneMet League veteran Nick Hilton, the initiative is focused on raising awareness around mental health, encouraging people to speak openly, and reminding others that support is always available.

Basketball is more than just a game—it’s a community. Every player, coach, volunteer, supporter, and family member matters, and sometimes simply checking in on someone can make a huge difference.

This week is about taking action: 🏀 Check in with your teammates and friends
🏀 Make time for conversations
🏀 Reach out if you’re struggling
🏀 Support people without judgement
🏀 Help us continue breaking the stigma around mental health

Through exploring the British countryside and taking on new challenges, Out & About With Nick is showing the positive impact that activity, community, and the outdoors can have on mental wellbeing.

We’re proud to announce that the TyneMet League is officially partnering with Out & About With Nick.

In a first for the TyneMet League, this partnership marks our commitment to helping raise awareness of mental health—an issue that affects so many within our communities and beyond.

Launched by Nick Hilton, a veteran of the TyneMet League, this initiative supports an important mission—raising awareness, encouraging open conversations, and helping to connect people with the support they need. Through Out & About With Nick, powerful work is being done to share real experiences, provide signposting to relevant services, and create a safe, supportive space where people know they are not alone.

This journey will be shared while exploring the British countryside—highlighting the positive impact that getting outdoors can have on mental wellbeing.

As confidence grows, so too will the challenges ahead, with ambitions to take on some of the UK’s most iconic climbs: Ben Nevis, Helvellyn, Skiddaw, and Snowdonia.

We encourage everyone to get behind this fantastic initiative—follow the journey, get involved, and reach out where needed.

We are proud to announce that Vipers Basketball will be entering a team into the Super League Basketball! 🏀🔥

This marks a huge step forward for the club as we take our place among the elite and begin an exciting new chapter in our journey.
But that’s not all…

Plans are already underway to build a brand new 33,000-seater state-of-the-art stadium, right where Chester-le-Street Park currently stands. A world-class venue for our players, fans, and the entire community! 🏟️💚

The future is bright. The future is Vipers.
