Shay & Matthew
Shay and Matthew showed excellent commitment throughout the session as we focused on developing 1v1 attacking, speed, agility and composure in possession. Both players demonstrated a willingness to take on defenders with confidence, using quick changes of direction and sharp footwork to create space. As the session progressed, there was a noticeable improvement in their decision-making, with both showing greater composure when approaching the defender and choosing the right moment to accelerate past them. A really positive session, with both players embracing the challenges and showing clear development.

Charlie, Jack & Harry
Charlie, Jack and Harry worked extremely hard during our 1v1 practices, with the emphasis on combining speed, agility and composure to beat an opponent. It was great to see all three players becoming more confident when driving at defenders, using quick movements and changes of pace to gain an advantage. They listened well to the coaching points and began to show better control and composure in possession, making smarter decisions rather than rushing their actions. Their determination, positive attitude and willingness to keep attacking defenders resulted in a strong session and clear progress across all three players.

Wednesday 15th July 2026

Adam & Shay

Adam and Shay both approached the session with a positive attitude and worked hard to apply the coaching points around finishing under pressure. They showed good composure when presented with goalscoring opportunities, taking an extra moment to pick their finish rather than rushing their shots. As the session progressed, both players became more confident in their decision-making and demonstrated improved accuracy, showing clear development in their overall finishing.

Charlie & Matthew

Charlie and Matthew produced a strong performance throughout the session, showing excellent determination and concentration. They responded well to the challenge of finishing under pressure, making intelligent decisions and using the correct technique to improve the quality of their strikes. Their movement to create goalscoring opportunities was particularly pleasing, and they consistently looked to put previous coaching points into practice, resulting in confident and controlled finishes.

Joseph, Harry & Alexander

Joseph, Harry and Alexander all had an excellent session and showed great commitment from start to finish. They embraced the high-pressure practices, remaining calm in front of goal and making good choices when finishing. It was great to see all three players combining good movement, composure and technical quality, with each of them showing noticeable improvement in both the consistency and precision of their finishing. Their willingness to listen, learn and apply feedback made for a very impressive session.

Player of the Session

Special congratulations to Alexander, who was named Player of the Session.

Alexander displayed an outstanding work ethic from start to finish, bringing great energy, focus, and a positive attitude to every activity. He embraced every challenge without hesitation, listened carefully to feedback, and was always looking for ways to improve his performance.

One aspect that really stood out was his commitment to using his weaker foot when finishing. Rather than taking the easier option, Alexander consistently challenged himself throughout the session, showing real confidence, determination, and a willingness to step outside his comfort zone. It was fantastic to see his technique and confidence grow as the session progressed, with clear improvements that reflected his hard work and dedication.

His attitude, effort, and desire to learn set a brilliant example for everyone, making him a thoroughly deserving recipient of the Player of the Session award.

A fantastic achievement well done, Alexander! Keep working hard, challenging yourself, and enjoying your football.

Matthew & Joseph

Matthew and Joseph had an excellent session and showed great determination to improve their finishing. Throughout the practices, both players became more confident when striking the ball with their laces, producing shots with greater power and accuracy. They listened carefully to coaching points and made positive adjustments to their technique, which was evident during the finishing exercises with the goalkeeper. A fantastic effort from both players keep working hard and building on today's progress.

Joseph G & Harry

Joseph G and Harry approached every activity with a positive attitude and plenty of energy. During the Nothing But Net practice, they showed good improvements in their shooting technique, focusing on their body shape and clean contact with the ball. As the session became more game-realistic, both players displayed increased confidence and composure in front of goal, making better decisions and producing some excellent finishes. Well done to both players for their commitment and willingness to learn.

Oscar & Freddie

Oscar and Freddie worked hard throughout the session and demonstrated a real desire to improve. They took on board the coaching points well and gradually increased the quality of their strikes, generating more power while maintaining good accuracy. In the finishing practice against the goalkeeper, they showed good confidence under pressure and continued to apply the techniques they had been practising. A brilliant session from both players keep up the excellent attitude and effort.

Charlie

Charlie showed excellent focus and effort throughout today's session. He worked hard on improving his shooting technique and became more consistent when striking the ball with his laces. It was pleasing to see his confidence grow as the session progressed, especially during the finishing drill where he showed good composure and made positive decisions in front of goal. A fantastic performance from Charlie today keep practising and your finishing will continue to improve.

Elliott

Although Elliott was unfortunately unable to complete the full session due to injury, he showed some positive moments during the finishing practices. He worked on striking the ball with his laces and showed good technique when finishing, taking on the coaching points well before coming off. Wishing Elliott a speedy recovery we look forward to seeing him back and continuing his progress next session.

Another excellent session tonight as we continued working through the first phase of our finishing programme, with the focus on waterfall finishing.

At the start of the session, we identified that a number of finishes lacked composure, conviction, and the correct technique. Rather than simply moving on, we took the opportunity to break the skill down and revisit the fundamentals that make goalscorers more consistent.

Throughout the evening we concentrated on body shape before contact, creating good balance, selecting the appropriate finish for the situation, and recognising when accuracy is more important than power. As confidence grew, so did the quality of the finishing across the group.

👏 Adam & Matthew worked hard throughout the session, showing a real willingness to take on information and apply the coaching points. Their movement and composure in front of goal improved as the session progressed, leading to more controlled and confident finishes.

👏 Alexander & Shay responded brilliantly after the technical discussions, demonstrating much better decision-making in front of goal. They became more composed under pressure and showed a clear understanding of when to finish with placement and when to strike through the ball.

👏 Jack, & Harry finished the session strongly, showing excellent determination and resilience. As the practices became more demanding, they adapted well, producing some high-quality finishes while maintaining good technique and making smarter decisions in front of goal.

To finish, we introduced a defender into the practice to replicate a more realistic match scenario. This challenged everyone to make quicker decisions while keeping their composure and executing the techniques we'd worked on. It was fantastic to see every player embrace the challenge and continue producing quality finishes despite the added pressure.

A huge well done to Adam, Matthew, Alexander, Shay, Jack, Harry, The attitude, effort, and desire to improve were outstanding from start to finish, and it's brilliant to see everyone's confidence in front of goal growing week by week.
