Ely Sailing Club

Ely Sailing Club Ely Sailing Club is based at Roswell Pits in Ely, Cambridgeshire. We have over 40 acres of attractive fresh water with islands, trees and banks.

The sailing is always interesting, challenging and fun. There is dry launching directly from jetties, and crews are able to sail without getting their feet wet. We are a recognised Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training centre and have also been awarded RYA Champion Club status for our race coaching. The club is family orientated and run by its members, for its members, with good value and enjoyment for all. Twitter:

Great write up from the Youth League event that was held at Grafham Water last Saturday…

The second event in the 2026 Cambridgeshire Youth League was held at Grafham Water Sailing Club on Saturday 6th June. The CYL consists of five Cambridgeshire sailing clubs: Cam SC, Ely SC, Grafham Water SC, Hunts SC and Paxton Lakes SC.

It's the Ely SC Model Yacht Open! All are welcome to attend our Open - experienced Model Yachters, completely new Model Yachters and just for fun Model Yachters are very welcome. There will be a variety of races taking place with cups and certificates for winners. All welcome - members & non-members and there will be a tuck shop available on the day. Please contact the Model Yacht Captain (via the Secretary) for any further information. We can't wait to see you there!

We sail Dragonforce 65 yachts (of all versions & colours) & have there's access to the club boat free of charge should you not be able to bring yours along on the day.

Big shout out to this fantastic team of Ely SC cadets who competed in the second round of the Youth League at Grafham. Kieran came first overall and Edward third. Good job lads! Abhi did her first race away from Roswell Pits. Really well done to all; the conditions were testing. Next event is the home leg on 4th July. Thanks Grafham Water Sailing Club for hosting us today. It was great to see sailors of all ages progressing through the RYA pathway, gaining confidence both on and off the water.
