Over 250 boys and girls aged from 5 – 12 years old took part in a festival hosted by Ely City Hockey Club on Sunday 22nd March. With teams from CCHC : Cambridge City Hockey Club, Cambridge Nomads Hockey Club, Cambridge South Hockey Club, Ely City, Newmarket Hockey Club, City of Peterborough Hockey Club, St Ives Hockey Club, St Neots Hockey Club and Wisbech Town Hockey Club took part, a total of 78 matches were played, with the first matches starting at 9.30am and the last matches ending at 4pm!

Ely City's Juniors Officer and Festival organiser Nick Wells said 'It was great to see so many children playing fantastic hockey and obviously really enjoying themselves. A big thank you must go to all those at Ely City Hockey Club who helped set up and run the festival, as well as to all the coaches of the visiting teams who helped umpire the games and ensure the smooth running of the day’s events. And of course, a big thank you to all the families and friends who came along to support.’

Have you seen our Defib ?
We went to service it and the cupboard was bare 😞

We are aware it was used and returned in July, and know of 2 other possible incidents on 28th September and 2nd November which may or may not have used it, but it appears it hasn’t been returned.

Ely City Hockey Club Juniors performed brilliantly in the first inter-club festival of the season hosted by St Ives Hockey Club on Sunday 12th October.
Ely City U8s, U10s and U12s teams all played against teams from Cambridge City, Cambridge Nomads, City of Peterborough, St Ives, March Town and Wisbech hockey clubs in a round robin tournament in their different age groups.
All the Ely City teams played some great hockey and really highlighted the work that they had put in during training sessions. Both the U8s and U10s won 2 of their matches, drew 2 and lost 1 match. The two U12 teams won 6 of their matches, drew 1 and lost 1 between them.
Nick Wells, Ely City’s Juniors Officer, commented ‘It was fantastic to see 35 Ely City Juniors travel to St Ives and for all the teams to perform so well. The improvement shown by all the players is testament to all the hard work put in by both the coaches and juniors over the last few years - the juniors played with such confidence and with great game play it was wonderful to watch. Everyone who played today should be extremely proud of themselves and we look forward to the next festival.’

An undefeated weekend for the club!!!
All teams went out and started the season on a high. With no teams losing, next week couldn't come sooner 💪🏑💚💛
