After a looonnnggggg two weeks off we're back in league action tomorrow against Moorlands.

Meh

Another frustrating 90 minutes for us as we fail to convert in the final third.

Plenty positives to take from today's match but unfortunately the few bad things have cost us 3 points in a game we really should have won.

In a game we very much controlled the majority of, we struggled to find that killer pass to help convert a half chance into a goal. Similarly, the chances we did create weren't taken advantage of.

Conceding a scrappy goal from a corner and switching off from a free kick saw us concede two goals in a game where the opposition were relatively quiet.

We got to see a couple new boys get some minutes and they will definitely be good additions to the squad as we continue to move in the right direction.

New Season, Same Old Rovers

Well I've returned from a well deserved holiday and received a synopsis of the weekends match against Fir Park Corner from the gaffer. In the interest of keeping our social media somewhat family friendly, I'll keep it slightly more PG.

Saturday saw us go into the first fixture of the season with a frustratingly small, albeit raring to go, squad with a mix of new and familiar faces.

Similar to our end of season match against the same opposition last year, we started very much the same and looked comfortable on the ball playing our football. However, an early injury on the 27th minute saw Del coming on to make his competitive debut in a Rovers jersey.

Unfortunately this debut lasted 6 minutes as he found himself victim of a straight red card for verbally defending himself from some unnecessary abuse.

From then on we were facing an uphill battle. We crated multiple chances despite being a man down, however legs prevailed in the second half and Fir Park Corner made their extra man count.

A tough way to start the season but there's plenty of football to play and it canny really get worse, can it?

Let's make amends next Saturday 👊

Tough day at the office today with a lot of lessons learned.

Found ourselves two down early doors after an OG was slotted into the bottom corner (definitely not by the guy writing this) and a deflection off someone's face to make it two.

Game became more level as both teams settled into possession but we struggled to create chances in the final third. Some acrobatics from Steg got it back to 2-1 and we went into half time with all to play for.

Traffic wasn't going in any particular direction second half but we were punished by two goals from outside the box and quickly found ourselves 3 down. Looked tidier in possession second half and worked up the park better as a unit but ultimately continued to fall short, not taking advantage of half chances or failing to find that final pass.

Beaten by a fitter, better organised team today but didn't do ourselves any favours by allowing the same ball over and over again with nothing clicking on the park.

Plenty to work on going into the season but we go into next week hopeful of a positive start, we know we're capable!

This weekend we take on Cathcart at Enviroclean Stadium in East Kilbride.

That's eh...... That's no bad actually!

Despite the result and missing players, a positive start to pre-season. Took us a while to get going but once we did we controlled the ball well and moved it around the park effectively.

3 goals today came from exactly what we've been working on in training which was refreshing to see.

3-2 with just over 10 to play and we were controlling the middle of the park before conceding an unlucky penalty, albeit the right decision, and then gave the ball away from the first pass at kick off and conceded straight away. We don't like to do anything the easy way 🫠

Plenty positives to take after nearly five months without a game and with a few players due to come in things are looking positive.

Always a good game against Glasgow Utd and we'll see yous in the league this coming season 👊
