After a wet and horrible night at training tonight the kids were invited down to the Kraken Chippy - East Kilbride for some suppers.

As you can see kids were absolutely buzzing and hungry by the looks of it 😅😂

Massive thanks to Team at the Kraken for their kindness and generosity, it's brilliant to have good people like this in the community 👌

Are you looking for a fun, friendly, and fantastic place for your child to play football?

Claremont AFC 2017s is looking for enthusiastic new players to join our squad as we continue our journey into 7v7s!

What We Offer:

A positive and encouraging environment focused on development and teamwork.

Coaching from qualified, PVG-checked volunteers.

Regular training sessions to build skills and confidence.

Fun/competitive weekly matches in the local league!

Who We're Looking For:

Boys and girls born in 2017.

All experiences and positions considered.

We are actively looking for kids who want to be a goalkeeper, with specific goalkeeper training provided.

Players who are keen to learn, have fun, and be part of a team.

Also, always happy for volunteers who would like to help with coaching, admin, fundraising, etc. all training will be supported by the club.

Today we played our last game of 5s yesterday, and we are genuinely so proud of all of them for how hard they have worked, developed, and grown this year. We have also had a few new faces join the team and it so good to see how they have integrated into the team ⚽❤️

It has been an extremely tough year for the team, but we have stuck together and worked hard to keep the smiles on these kids faces 🙌

We would like to thank the parents for the support they have given to not only the kids but the coaches as well 👌❤️

🧤 What to tell young Goalkeepers:
It’s tough being the last line of defense — especially when the goals feel bigger than your bedroom wall. But here’s what I remind them:

1️⃣ The ball has to get past EVERYONE before it reaches you.
2️⃣ The goals are oversized at this age — don’t expect to stop everything.
3️⃣ Your feet are just as important as your hands. Be confident with both.

As they grow, their role grows too.
💡 The 4 key jobs of a goalkeeper:
✔️ Save the ones you’re expected to.
✔️ Distribute quickly and accurately.
✔️ Be the voice that organizes the defense.
✔️ And every now and then — pull off a save that makes the crowd go “WOW.”

Coaches, when things are not going your team's way and results are not reflecting yours and your team's efforts, it can begin to feel really hard, and sometimes very lonely, especially when you blame yourself and you feel criticism coming your way....

BUT REMEMBER, because of you someone learned something new, someone experienced something different, someone laughed and smiled, and because of you someone became more confident and felt part of a team.

NEVER FORGET, you are making a difference, you are creating memories, you are bringing people together and you are adding value to people's lives.

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, be proud of that!
