Another good turnout for the June Auldhouse 5k time trial. Midgies at the start line and a bit of wind made conditions not ideal!

Despite this we saw a couple of PB’s and the fastest time achieved by our junior Harrier Charlotte Buchanan, closely followed by Chris Thomson.

Also of note was Fiona Williamson who started 4th and was 1st over the finish line, so a move up packs is Fiona’s prize!

Well done everyone.

Harriers Juniors Update

Stellar Performances and PBs Galore at Dunblane 2km

High spirits, incredible grit, and a flurry of personal bests defined yesterday's Dunblane 2km junior race, as the next generation of running talent took to the streets and delivered standout performances across the board.

Under excellent racing conditions, the fast and competitive field pushed the young athletes to their absolute limits, resulting in a spectacular day of racing for both the boys' and girls' categories.

The boys' race was a thrilling, fast-paced affair from the starter's gun. Hamish Anderson led the charge with a magnificent performance, showing tactical maturity and a brilliant turn of foot to claim a superb 2nd overall place finish. Not far behind him, Gavin Boyd ran a beautifully judged race to cross the line in a highly impressive 4th place, proving his strength in a deeply competitive field. Rounding out a fantastic team showing in the top ten, Luca McArthur showed brilliant gritty determination, fighting hard all the way to the finish line to secure a fantastic 7th place.

In the girls' race, the competition was equally fierce. Charlotte Buchanan delivered a masterclass in pacing and grit. Going toe-to-toe with a rapid leading pack, Charlotte executed a fantastic race strategy to cross the finish line in an outstanding 4th place, narrowly missing out on a podium spot

While the high-ranking positions are cause enough for celebration, the proudest achievement of the day belongs to the clock - every single one of these athletes left everything on the course, and their hard work in training paid off in the best way possible: Hamish, Gavin, Luca, and Charlotte all achieved brand-new Personal Bests (PBs) over the 2km distance yesterday.

To run at such a high tempo under race-day pressure and eclipse their previous fastest times is a testament to their dedication, training, and consistency. With top-ten finishes and a clean sweep of PBs in the bag, the future looks incredibly bright for this talented group of junior runners.

Congratulations to Hamish, Gavin, Luca, and Charlotte on an unforgettable race day!
