Progress Update

Yet again he floods in with the hard work. Client pouring more effort into another re comp phase! Craig has worked so hard in the gaining/accumulation stages without increasing too much body fat where people tend to go wrong when the definition of bulk can mean eat everything and anything (guilty been there🖐🏻). He’s laid more muscle tissue down coming in 7lbs heavier in the 2nd re comp picture with a lower body fat percentage. Can’t say it enough consistency and hard work really does pay off!

A massive well done to my client Bobbi who smashed her photo shoot prep! Looking absolutely stunning!

During this process we managed to pull off 7kg and drop her body fat by 11%. Even though she was in fantastic shape before this we had to take her training and diet to a different level, and anyone that’s been through a prep knows the dedication you need… and as you can see her conditioning speaks for itself!

I myself have been loving going through this journey with clients because you will go through the highs and lows of it with them, and again a big thanks to Bobbi who trusted the process with me to achieve this!

Cold Water Therapy

So after reading all the benefits of Cold Water Therapy I decided to give it a try and see what it was all about, so I set myself a target of doing it for a week everyday and here’s what I found..

First start off with the recommended minimum of 11 mins per week. I personally increased this, not for ego, but because I felt I could cope pretty well with the cold.

How cold? Really does depend on everyone as an individual. I started off with just tap water temperature which was cold enough.

As the week progressed I threw ice packs in to lower it by a few degrees. It doesn’t have to be chilled well below minus, it just has to be cold enough to make you feel uncomfortable but you can deal with it safely!

How long? Again this will be down to everyone as an individual and their cold tolerance. Start off with a few mins if that’s do able…then take a common sense approach and gradually increase your time safely!! Obviously the colder it is the shorter your time frame will be, and the “warmer” it is the longer you can stay in.

Top Tips…
When you get your body in you will naturally give off heat, this heat creates a thermal layer around your body. The more you can stay still the warmer you will be.
Wear a hat and gloves.
Music is also a massive motivator.
Wim Hof breathing techniques.

Benefits… Muscle recovery, less inflammation, improved performance. Less muscle aches.

Training..If your goal is strength and muscle hypertrophy, I leave a 4 hour window, studies have shown it can negatively impact gains right after this type of workout. However if it’s a more cardio based workout or sport specific movements I’d go right in after. So be mindful of this!

Sleep..100% improved, for any stressed heads or over thinkers this is hugely beneficial.

It might not be for everyone, I love it! Too many benefits to give it up so I’ll incorporate this into my daily routine. Just remember if you’re going to partake in it. Do your research and do it safely!

Extreme Transformation

What a difference 6 months can make as my client Olga kept surpassing every goal I set her. As you can see she absolutely carved out the most leanest sculpted version of herself for this physique photoshoot.

I can’t give her enough credit for putting the time & dedication not only into me as her trainer but to herself on this journey. Not only did she drop 13% body fat, we were able to lay down so much lean muscle tissue through countless gruelling training sessions, I’ll be honest some really weren’t nice especially putting up with me 4 sessions a week, and that’s why I’ve learned a whole load of new swear words from her in her native language that pounded my ears so much, 🙉 especially when we hit legs and delts. 😂😁

Now it’s time to up those calories, start hitting some PB’s amongst the iron, gain some size…and hit the stage for the next goal. !

⚡️Client Progress⚡️

If we could rewind the clock back even a year ago and take a look at how far some people can come on their fitness journey it’s amazing.

Everyone can relate to the can’t be bothered or feeling a bit lazy attitude for the gym today, but what you don’t hear often is the other extreme end of it… Exercise exhaustion and fatigue, when you spend countless hours numerous times a day in the gym everyday until it becomes detrimental to your health!! Something I can relate to as well, which helped me recognise it in my next client.

In the time we’ve been working together we’ve addressed so many root causes.

Less focus on every calorie and making the focus about performance and well being!

Discovering food intolerances and working around negative eating behaviours/patterns.
Injury rehab and technique adjustment.

Finding structure and stability in training which has lead to more happiness, less stress, and confidence soaring!

Sometimes it’s the biggest internal transformations we make that lead to the best outer results.

Consistency, hard work, progressive overload, a formula that never fails!! over the last six months it’s been a pleasure to train her, she goes from strength to strength. One of the hardest workers in the gym. Big things to come from her. Proud Trainer.

*New Place Of Work*

I’m pleased to announce I will be continuing my personal training services with The Gym Group, Stack Retail Park Dundee from Monday the 1st of August. They say when one door closes another one opens! Incredible Progress from ma man online client as his recomp phase has come to an end.

When Craig got in touch it was simply just about dropping a bit of weight to feel better, and lose the Dad bod! Knowing Craig for years from the days of our youth lol and his fondness for beer 🙈 I wasn’t sure he’d commit to this process 100%.

Not only did he commit he surpassed my expectations 🤜🏻🤛🏻. Once the realisation of never being able to out train a bad diet sank in.. it all fell into place!

Structured tracked weight program to add lean muscle tissue in his deficit.

Less focus on mile after mile of endless cardio and more on nutrition balance and daily movement.

For the most part of it he still got to enjoy all his favourite Gousto meals.

As you can see Craig had a complete body composition change around. He gained muscle, his athletic performance improved, he dropped the stubborn abdominal fat he’d carried around for years. Finally at 36 we sent out the lost & found team and brought those abs back home. 😂

As a busy family guy with young children that like to surprise you with wake up calls 3 x a night🥱😵‍💫, any parent knows the planning, the prep, and the motivation to get yourself out the door let alone to the gym when you feel burnt out. So full credit, massive well done, now onto the next phase 💪🏼
