‼️Scottish Gymnastics Insurance Renewal‼️

Just to make everyone aware that new members should now be able to purchase their Scottish Gymnastics Insurance to Salto Gymnastics Dundee, the glitch has been resolved.

Existing members should continue to renew as normal.

Information on how to purchase/renew, along with new registration forms have been handed out at class this week. Registration forms must be returned by next week.

Existing members should still be able to renew as normal.

Can I remind all parents that NEW registration forms for 2026/2027 are being handed out this week at your child’s training.

Please pop into the gym to complete the form or ensure it is fully completed both sides, signed and returned at your child’s next session asap.

It is mandatory that registration forms are completed as we need this for in the event of an emergency. Please ensure that you read, sign and complete the Terms & Conditions on the reverse.

‼️Scottish Gymnastics Insurance Renewal‼️

From today, 1st of September 2026, ALL members of the club are required to have Scottish Gymnastics Insurance via the Scottish Gymnastics website. You can access this via the Members purple tab which will take you to the Members area where you will select Join or Renew. Please ensure that you select Salto Dundee and that you put your child’s name as the gymnast, not the parents name as the gymnast.

Please note that Bronze Insurance is required. Recreational (school age) cost is £25, Pre-school (from walking age) cost is £18. This must be paid directly to Scottish Gymnastics.

There will be lots of great opportunities to access member benefits, as well as a whole range of resources on the SG wesbsite.

Please note that insurance with Scottish Gymnastics is mandatory and without this your child will not be allowed to access the gym or any training sessions.

In addition to this, you will still be required to have private membership to Salto Gymnastics Club as normal which is £25 paid directly to the same account as your standing order fees.

Letters have already been handed out at your child’s training explaining the process.

✨ NEW PARTNERSHIP WORKING ✨

We’re delighted to announce that Salto Gymnastics Club has formed a strong new working partnership with Greenfield Academy and Active Schools delivering weekly gymnastics sessions as part of the school’s School of Sport programme during normal curriculum time. 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️

Greenfield Academy is the only secondary school in Dundee to deliver this fantastic and unique programme, and Salto GC are incredibly proud to be part of it! 🤸🏻‍♀️💜

The School of Sport is a targeted programme for S1 and S2 pupils, designed to give young people access to a wide range of sporting opportunities that they may not otherwise experience.

Our collaborative approach will help to:
▪️Increase participation in sport
▪️Develop new skills and confidence
▪️Encourage lifelong engagement in physical activity
▪️Provide positive experiences and opportunities for personal development
▪️Each child will work towards Salto’s School of Sport Awards Scheme
▪️In-house competition June 2027 for all students to showcase their achievements

✨Developing Young Leaders✨

The programme is also focused on developing the next generation of young sports leaders.

S6 pupils will gain valuable leadership experience by supporting the delivery of sessions, helping organise activities and acting as positive role models for younger pupils, while working alongside our experienced squad coaches.

These experiences will help develop confidence, communication, teamwork and responsibility — valuable skills that will support their personal development both in and out of school.

Our senior S6 volunteers will also have the opportunity to work towards achieving their Saltire Award, a recognised volunteering award endorsed by the Scottish Government.

📚 Supporting Staff Development📚

The partnership will also provide PE staff with valuable CPD (Continuing Professional Development) from our experienced squad coaches, helping to enhance their own delivery of core PE.

The School of Sport is a fantastic initiative that aims to inspire young people to be active, connected and confident, while strengthening the links between Greenfield Academy and Dundee’s local sporting community.

We’re incredibly excited to be involved and look forward to seeing the pupils develop their gymnastics skills, confidence and leadership abilities over the coming weeks and months! 💜🤸‍♀️

💷Fundraising💷

🔸After our last successful Fundraiser earlier this year, letters will be coming out in the Autumn for our Xmas 2026 draw which will take place on Saturday 19th December.

🔸😴🎬🍿SLEEPOVER😴🎬🍿

We have had a lot of gymnasts asking if they could have sleepover in the gym.

We have done quite a few successful sleepovers with our squads and this time we are opening this up to all our Squads and Recreational gymnasts from 7 years old upwards. Numbers will be limited.

Sleepover will be Saturday 10th October 2026.

It’s a great opportunity for children to make new friends while having lots of fun. There will be fun team building activities, games and a choice of DVD’s to watch.

Booking forms will be available over the coming weeks. If you are looking for your child to be booked on, please pop in when dropping off or picking up to pick up a form or for more information, speak with one of our Squad Coaches.

✨Important Competition Information✨

🗓️ 1 week to go to our Recreational Competition.

Letters have been getting handed out during class sessions last week with information on times. There are 2 rounds depending on your child’s age.

Round 1 - born 2021, 2020 and 2019

Round 2 - born 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015

Please ensure that your child is in training this week to go over routines in case any changes need to be made and get their competition letter for all timings.

🅿️Parking
Can we remind all parents that the car park will be very busy due to the competition in the afternoon.

Please ensure that you park in a parking space and NOT blocking access to the front door in case emergency vehicles need to gain access. Please do NOT park in grided areas.

When parking if you can reverse park so that you can see small children passing rather than an accident happening.

Parking on grass verges is NOT permitted as this blocks access to cars and emergency vehicles coming in and leaving the carpark.

If there is no space available to park, please park over at the Odeon carpark as it is easy to access at all times and there are a set of steps that lead to the side entrance of our building.

💳💷Entry Payments & Raffle
We will accept card or cash payments.
If paying by cash, please ensure that you pay by exact amount of money for entry. All information is in the competition letter.

We will have a snack stall available at the competition, payment by cash or card for purchases.

We still have spaces available at our camp this week before the schools start back. You are more than welcome to come along and pay on arrival.

Our last Summer Camp of the summer holidays before the schools go back is next week 10th-14th August.

Our camps are open to our members and non-members.

Times
10-3pm (Monday-Friday)
Option to stay until 4pm. Packed lunch is required.

Book 2 weeks to receive £10 discount off 2nd week booked.

Single days are also available.

Payment can be made prior to attending or on the first day of attending the camp.

All classes run as normal along with camps during the Summer holidays.
