More than just rugby.

Following the recent rise in water-related incidents, our older junior teams took part in a water safety awareness talk this evening.

As a club, safeguarding and educating our young people extends far beyond the rugby pitch. We want our players to understand the dangers of open water, make safe decisions, look out for one another, and know what to do in an emergency.

Sometimes the most important lessons aren’t about rugby at all.

A big thank you to our coaching team for taking the time to deliver such an important message.

A Day to Remember for Bentley ARLFC U8s πŸ‰πŸ’™πŸ’›

After months of planning and fundraising, the day they’d all been looking forward to finally arrived.

Whilst most people were still asleep, alarms were going off at 4am as a group of excited Bentley ARLFC U8s players, parents and coaches set off on an adventure to London.

The day started at Harrow School, where the kids took part in the Challenge Cup Festival against teams from across the country taking part in 6 solid games, before making the journey to Wembley Stadium.

Then came the moment they’d all been waiting for. Our players had the honour of taking part in the opening pitch parade before the Challenge Cup Final, walking out in front of thousands of supporters and proudly representing Bentley ARLFC.

After the parade, they settled in to watch a fantastic Challenge Cup Final between Hull KR and Wigan Warriors and soak up the atmosphere of one of rugby league’s biggest occasions.

For many of our players it was their first time visiting London, first time on the Underground and first time experiencing anything on this scale. Seeing the smiles on their faces throughout the day made every bit of planning worthwhile.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the trip happen. To the coaches, volunteers, parents and everyone who supported our fundraising efforts, thank you.

To add a huge thank you to Cozy Carpets for sponsoring the tour T-shirts!!!!

Months of planning turned in to the best day for our amazing team! Until next year!! Wembley… you’ve been amazing πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ’™

The memories will last a lifetime.

Last week saw Bentley Dev take on Milford in the quarter-final of the cup, with Bentley going into the game as underdogs against a side from the division above who had only lost once all season.

A youthful Bentley side started strongly, with some big carries and hard hits from the forwards. Milford opened the scoring with a break out wide to make it 4-0.

Bentley hit back through Tony Turton, and with the conversion added, Bentley took the lead and started to control the game.

Half-time: 6-4

Milford came out of the blocks quickly in the second half, scoring two tries, but Bentley never gave up and played some impressive rugby. Ellis and Alex G put in some big hits, while Tony T and Logan H showed plenty of flair in attack.

Milford’s consistency from playing every week began to show, and they finished the game strongly with another two tries.

Bentley also finished strongly, with a much-improved performance that they can take confidence from going into the league campaign.

Man of the Match: Tony Turton πŸ’™
