Re-Introduction to the owner of Seasons Best Andy
Does your current race timing provider care as much about race times and running as this company does.
My PBs from 2011/2012
1500m = 4.16
5000m = 15.50
3 Mile Handicap Race = 15.30
Parkrun = 16.08
5 Mile = 26.38
10k = 32.50
Half = 1.12.44
Marathon = erf 2.48 (havent figured that distance out yet)
I have well over 200 races on my personal Power of 10 and I have also timed over 200 races as well as being a Race Director on a few races and I used to be the Course Manager for Wilne 10k and Ramathon Half Marathon in Derby.
My 15.50 for 5000 metres was an Open Race in Corby and no one else turned up so I ran that on a track by myself with a few timekeppers and about 4 people in the stand watching 🤣
My 3 Mile Handicap 15.30 was a measured 3 mile race with everyone set off so they would finish at the same time, I set off so far behind anyone else I didnt see anyone until after 2.5 miles.
I wish I had done a Parkrun that weekend I definetly would have gone sub 16 in a good field. The race was on a wednesday and on count back over the past 7 days I was on 110 miles before I even started that race 🤣
My 5 Mile PB it was a 5 mile race in 2012 finishing on the olympic track to celebrate opening the stadium for 2012, the Top 3 got a trophy presented to them by Holly Willoughby, I came 4th by 1 second 🤣🤣
My 10k PB at Wilne 10k 32.50 I remember chucking my racing flats Asics Gel DS Racers in the bin on the way back to the car as I was disgusted I didnt run 32.30 and then I went out Sunday night and ran a 6 mile tempo in Anger 🤣 Innoncence of youth
My hardest ever training week was in 2012 on the run upto the TCS London Marathon in the Championship Start I ran a 127 mile week with 16 x Kenyan Hills on the Monday Morning a Pyramid session on the Wednesday 1,2,3,4,5,4,3,2,1 off 60 second recoveries then Sunday 5 mile warm up 10 mile tempo in 57.40 then 5 mile warm down for a 20 mile run then 6 mile in the evening for a 26 mile double day.
How did London go that year I blasted through 5 mile in 27.40 and blew up massively 🤣🤣 stupid marathons
The Pictures National XC Relays in Berry Hill Park loved those and 5000m and 1500m HMRC UK National Champion I ran the 5000m in 16.00 according to dodgy timekeepers or 15.59 on my watch.
The 1500m was an hour later I dont recall what I ran I just remember thinking I am the fittest here although there are some 800m kickers here that have only done the 800m which was before my race so I am going to make it hard from the gun which i did.
Good Times, Good Memories.
To Sum up we like running and timing 🤣
