Protect your muscle at all costs!

You don't need to live in the gym in order to build muscle and maintain it - just train a few hours a week with a decent programme and you'll be good to go.

Although you may get to enjoy the feeling of making progress and possibly start spending more time in the gym for fun 😎

Message me if you'd like help in getting on track with your muscle and strength building journey.

Are you treating your body like a hire car? Abusing it, returning it fu**ed and declaring it's not your problem?
You only get one body and it's the one thing that runs your life - don't just hope that it keeps working - maintain it properly.

There's more to this than exercise and diet, but they're a huge part of it. Hit me up if you need help/advice in getting started, or have lost motivation and need a kick up the arse.

Pictured: my hire car which had a tyre blowout after I'd only had it for a day - it had clearly not been looked after.

Don't break down, look after your health before ill health forces you to take notice.

Staying active and strong with decent levels of muscle mass can limit the chances of having a fall, but also limit the potential damage of a fall if one still happens.

You don't need to follow a complicated programme, in fact keeping things simple is often the best way to make progress.

Train your legs, hips, back and arms with a view of slow progressive overload 2-3 times a week along with regular walking and you'll be on the right track.

Message me if you, or anyone you know would like help with this.

If your goal is simply to get healthier and more athletic - not necessarily to build big muscles - the gym might not be *your* best starting point. I’ve trained in gyms for 26 years and love them, but they’re not the only path to fitness.

If you enjoy sports, playing a sport you like a few times a week can be far more effective and enjoyable. When you’re having fun, exercise doesn’t feel like a chore, and you’re far more likely to stick with it long term.

But if no sport appeals to you, you’re more introverted, or you do want to build muscle or get stronger for your sport, the gym is an excellent option - and one I highly recommend.

If you’d like guidance on getting the most from your training, I’m currently taking on new clients. Send me a DM saying “GYM” and we’ll chat to see if we’re a good fit.

Pretty much anyone can work to increase strength. Whether you want to improve your sports performance, want to be able to keep up with your grandchildren more easily or just want to feel better in yourself with more energy, it's a good idea to incorporate lifting weights along with some cardio.

If you're able to lift your arms and legs you're able to do resistance training of some kind and it's incredibly scalable, so definitely worth a try.

If you want some help getting started, need some accountability to get sessions done, or have been working out for a while and hit a plateau - send me a DM and let's get started 🙂

Please share this with a friend/family member who you think would be interested.

If you're looking for a lifelong change, get on the weight lifting - it's great for muscular strength, fat loss, bone density, cardiovascular fitness, defying the effects of aging and mental health. Plus it feels awesome being able to do something you previously couldn't and then doing that over and over again.

DM me to get started - all abilities welcome.
