Jason Burgoyne started doing combat sports with Japanese jujitsu 30 years ago, then graduated to studying as a live-in student for Aikido and Kung Fu. Then, Jason joined the military and started doing unarmed combat ... that showed him that what he had been doing was not exactly "real world" training. Under the tutelage of old perry staff. Bud Richardson, Jason started falling in love with the swe
et science. A few years later, he trained under Tate Deschamps and started to really develop. It became Jason's dream to start a club when he started teaching soldiers how to fight and was the Chief Close Quarters Combat Instructor for close to 12 years for his unit. Jason's fight career was relatively short, as he started in MMA during the dark years where it was not a sanctioned sport in Ontario. When Jason's old coach, Tate, asked him to come act as his Assistant Coach once he retired, he jumped at the opportunity. That was a fantastic pairing, and Tate saw in Jason someone that he trusted enough to have take over his school. And here we are, moved into a new and much better location, carrying on the tradition of Bud and Tate and bringing the Sweet Science to Pembroke/Petawawa area. Life is good.
