💪🏻Movement gets you moving. Strength keeps you moving.

“I walk every day. Isn’t that enough?”

First off, if you’re walking regularly—keep going! Walking is one of the best things you can do for your physical and mental health. It improves cardiovascular fitness, helps manage stress, boosts energy, and gets us moving more throughout the day. That’s exactly why our June Step Challenge is focused on one thing: encouraging more daily movement.

But walking and strength training aren’t interchangeable.

While daily movement is essential, strength training provides a unique stimulus that helps maintain muscle mass, bone density, balance, and strength as we age. It also supports heart health by improving blood pressure, blood sugar regulation, and overall metabolic health.

The truth is, your body benefits from both.

🚶 Move often.
💪🏻 Strength train consistently.

It’s not about choosing between daily walks and strength training—it’s about combining them to build a body that’s healthy, capable, and resilient for years to come!

What’s your favourite way to get more movement into your day? Tell us in the comments below 👇🏼

Exercise isn’t just “good for you.” It’s chemistry. 🧠⚡️

Every time you strength train, your body releases and regulates hormones and neurotransmitters connected to mood, focus, stress, resilience, recovery, and long-term brain health.

From endorphins and dopamine to cortisol, HGH, and BDNF (“fertilizer for the brain”), your workout is doing a lot more than building muscle.

Even in just 15 minutes, your body is working on a cellular level to help you feel stronger — physically and mentally. 💪🏻💭

We really do miss you when you’re not here… it’s just not the same without you walking through the door, and complaining on the leg press 😂💪🏻

12 Years. 12 Lessons.

From Alanna — 12 years at Evolved 👇
1. Exercise is a tool, not a punishment. This workout helped me learn how to actually take care of my body.
2. Less is more. You don’t need more time in the gym or a more complicated program. Look at your routine today & imagine sustaining it for the next decade.
3. I work harder when the workout is shorter. 60 minutes? I’ve got time to rest, chat, check my phone. 15 minutes? Let’s put in work.
4. Real effort is a skill. Working to momentary muscular failure isn’t something our body naturally wants to do—but we get so many benefits when we do.
5. I would never have pushed myself this hard without a coach. No amount of education, practice, or discipline can get more out of you than 1-on-1 coaching.
6. The best workout is the one you’ll stick to. Consistency is key. You don’t need every trendy workout—just a habit you maintain week after week.
7. Effective exercise is simple. Progress & effort are what make it interesting.
8. Not every workout has to be perfect. Do it tired, sad, distracted, busy. You’ll feel better after you accomplish it.
9. Strength training is just as important as cardio. You become unstoppable when you do both consistently.
10. Women need to embrace strength training for their health—not aesthetics. It’s essential for aging well (for everybody).
11. We were ahead of our time. Strength training is becoming mainstream—but this has been our expertise for over 12 years.
12. I want to do the same workout for the next 12 years. I’m sticking with what has worked for me & thousands of our clients.

See you in the studio!
