Handy Tip #2
Hole 7 – Willunga Golf Course Par 4 | 379 m | Stroke Index 1 Blue Tees
A positional hole where course management is more important than length. From the tee, lay up approximately 180 metres, avoiding the creeks that border both sides of the fairway and the crossing creek through the middle. Favour the left side of the fairway, short of the crossing creek, to leave the best angle into the green.
The approach plays slightly downhill from a downhill lie, making distance control critical. There is a bunker guarding the left side of the green, while misses long or right can leave a difficult recovery. The percentage play is to aim for the centre of the green and accept a longer birdie putt.
The green is subtle and can be difficult to read, so focus on lag putting and avoid turning a straightforward par opportunity into a three-putt. Par is an excellent score on this hole.
