Big news for golfers.

The Short Course is getting a major upgrade — becoming a full 18-hole course. Yep… 18 holes.

The Course will be renamed The Short 18.

You’ll still be able to sneak in a quick 9, but the expansion will also give players the chance to play a rated course and gain an official handicap.

➡️ More holes.
➡️ More variety.
➡️ More reasons to get out for a hit.

Construction kicks off in June, with the new-look The Short 18 expected to open in November.
We’ll keep disruption to play at a minimum while works are underway.

Playing a round at twilight just hits different.

There’s something pretty special about heading out for a few holes as the light starts to fade, taking your time, and just enjoying being out there.

It’s also a great way to squeeze in a round after work, with less pressure and more space to enjoy your game (or lose a few balls in peace).

And if you time it right… the sunset alone is worth the tee time.

Here’s why the kids will love a family day out at The Pat GC:

➡️ Plenty of space to run around and burn off some energy.
➡️ Smashing a ball as far as they can feels more like a game than a sport.
➡️ They don’t have to be pros to have fun, even the first few swings can be great (or at least hilarious), and those little wins keep them hooked.
➡️ Let’s be honest… the outfits alone make it worth it.

The kids have fun, burn off plenty of energy and you get the perfect excuse to head out to the golf park and sneak in a game yourself... everybody wins!

The grounds team have been busy getting the course ready for the cooler months!

We love how lush the course looks in winter, but it does need a bit of extra care to keep it in good shape and playing well.

Here’s what’s been going on:
⛳Core aeration to relieve compaction and help water, air and nutrients reach the roots.
⛳Applying topdress to smooth out surfaces and protect the grass.
⛳Letting the grass grow a little longer to help protect it and hold energy as growth slows.
⛳Keeping a close eye on water, cutting back on irrigation but making sure the turf doesn’t dry out.

We know getting your swing right can be a bit tricky, even if you consider yourself a pro.

We spoke to PGA teaching pro Zak Rollins Golf for a few helpful tips on getting that takeaway right:

➡️ If the right arm gets pulled behind you early, the swing can quickly lose structure.
➡️ This towel drill keeps his arms connected to the body, so the chest and shoulders can properly start the motion.

Keep it simple:
🏌️‍♂️Hip height back
🏌️‍♂️Hip height through
🏌️‍♂️Chest, arms, hips all facing the target
