Tyabb Cricket Club The Tyabb Cricket Club has a proud history and was formed in 1892. We will keep you updated with all of the latest news, results and all of the social events.

The Tyabb Cricket Club was established in 1892, and continues to be a thriving part of the Tyabb community more than 130 years later. ​​​We are an all inclusive club who cater for players of all ages and abilities. We have won a number of 1st XI Premierships (in "Provincial", the top comp in the M.P.C.A) as well as grade Premierships. Our club is an inclusive one, families are most welcome at the

club and we try and make our club as welcoming to the ladies as well as the kids. If you are an ex-player player, club person, current player or have a general interest in our club please join.

Season 2026/27 Launch

Just a reminder that our season launch is happening this Friday night at the Sporting Globe in Frankston. Whether you're an existing face, new face or returning face we'd love to see as many people as possible.

Numbers at preseason training have been fantastic so far, and it's promising to be another huge year down at the pond, so what better way to kick it off then with some food, drinks, and Fremantle Vs Geelong on the big screen.

JUNIOR YABBIES ARE BACK!

We’re really excited to welcome our Junior Yabbies back to the track tonight for their first training session of what should be a fun & exciting season!

Being an indoor session, the weather won’t be an issue, and everyone will get a good go. With only 5 weeks until Round 1, hopefully the kids are all chomping at the bit to have some fun, ready to meet & catch up with their teammates and get stuck into it!

Training starts at 4:45PM sharp

Please make sure you get there a little early so the kids are ready to go and can make the most of their first session back.

HERE’S SOME GREAT NEWS TO START YOUR WORKING WEEK WITH… RUSTY IS BACK!

We are excited to announce that Luke Rus has committed for the 2026/27 season!

This will be the 20th season since he first called Tyabb home back in the 2007/08 season. Incredibly, he has played nowhere else since — a testament to his loyalty and connection to the club. We couldn’t be happier to see him going around again!

Rusty is an out-and-out legend of the Tyabb Cricket Club, with a resume that very few in our history can match.

His accolades include:

- 1st XI Premiership Player
- Member of our Team of the Last 25 Years (1992–2017)
- 7 x Don Clarke Club Champion
- Jeff Slocombe 1st XI Player of the Year
- 5 x 1st XI Batting Awards
- 4 x 1st XI Bowling Awards
- Nominated by The Leader newspaper as one of the 60 best MPCA players of the past two decades

And while his record speaks for itself, Rusty showed last season that his class is still very much on display. His performances throughout our finals campaign were a huge part of our success, with two crucial innings helping him finish as the leading 1st XI Sub District run-scorer across the finals series.

As we step up into District cricket, his experience, calmness and steadying leadership will be invaluable to our group.

A true Yabbie legend who continues to lead by example both on and off the field.

GOODLUCK JUNIOR YABBIES

After a long winter of hard work and dedication, two of the towns junior football teams have made the big dance this weekend!

The cricket club will be well represented with Remy Souter, Nate Brouwer, Louis Rolston & Jasper Leskovec pulling on the boots one last time for the year in the U/11's. Get down to support them at Balnarring.

Thijs Wensink, Bill Clode, Flynn Shields & Harro Dent will then be hoping to finish the season strongly when they play at Olympic Park in Rosebud.

Make sure you pack your car full of all your maroon, and let's make as much noise as we can and support both the future of the cricket and football club on a big day!

WOMEN’S TRAINING THIS WEDNESDAY!

Just a reminder that we’d love to see as many women as possible at training this Wednesday from 7:00–8:30pm at Saxon Sports, Frankston!

This is our Come & Try Night for any and all aspiring women cricketers out there, whether you’re completely new to cricket, looking to return to the game, or simply looking to start a new chapter and try something different.

Players of all abilities and experience levels are welcome. You don’t need to be an experienced cricketer — just come along and give it a try! You don't have to bring any equipment as it will be supplied on the night, all you need to bring is you!!

Come down by yourself or bring some friends with you, have a hit, meet some new friends and become part of a welcoming and friendly playing group & club community.

New players are always welcome — come and give it a go!

ORDERS MUST BE IN BY WEDNESDAY, 26TH AUGUST — As the order will be sent Thursday to the manufacturers - don’t miss out!

If you need match-day clothing, make sure you get your order in, as we will not be carrying any spare stock.

MATCH-DAY COLOURS
The 1st & 2nd XI will be in maroon for the first six games of the season.
So, if you're hoping to play up the grades, make sure you have a set of maroons ready to go. Everyone else will be in whites for Round 1 and beyond.

OFFICIAL PLAYER TRAINING SHIRTS ARE NOW OPEN FOR ORDER!

Senior & Junior Player Training Shirts are now available to order for the upcoming 2026/27 season!

A great shirt to wear around the club on training nights and gamedays, while helping create a sense of uniformity, connection and club pride across our senior and junior groups.

The club would love to see every senior player with a training shirt, so the earlier you organise your player sponsor, the sooner you’ll receive your shirt to wear at training — and the more exposure your sponsor will receive throughout the season.

It’s a fantastic opportunity for a local business to support one of their favourite Yabbies (getting them a free shirt) and get their brand in front of the Tyabb Cricket Club & Local community, with player sponsorship including:

UPCOMING EVENTS AT TYABB CRICKET CLUB

With the new season rapidly approaching, a lot is being planned behind the scenes to make sure the season runs smoothly and is enjoyable for all.

WORKING BEE
⏰9:30-11am
Early forecast is for sunshine, so please come down to the nets and help us get them ready for the season ahead. With pre-season at Saxon Sport due to finish early September, it's important to get the nets ready for a big season.

WOMEN'S COME AND TRY NIGHT
⏰7-8:30pm
Looking for a new hobby, want to have some fun and make new friends, or looking for a new challenge? Our women's come and try night is designed to give you a taste of cricket at Tyabb, so come down and see if it's for you!

SEASON 2026/27 LAUNCH

Coach Jayden Regan and President Greg Burch will be running through the plans for the season, the goals we hope to achieve and any other information leading into the season ahead.

2026/27 FIXTURE RELEASE

It's the first season back in District for our 1st XI and 2nd XI, and the fixtures have just been released.

The 1st XI starts our season at home against Moorooduc, and we'd love for as many supporters to join us as we look to build on the incredible premiership last year!

Our 12th Yabby club will be back in action, so get in contact with us if you want to be connected to the club but aren't looking to play!
