🏐🦞 PRELIM FINAL RESULTS 🦞🏐

💙 15U NAVY | 20–24 LOSS v KARINGAL

Another great performance from our Navy girls, unfortunately going down to Karingal 24–20 in a hard-fought Preliminary Final.

Thankfully the rain disappeared, but a wet court and plenty of wind made for some challenging conditions. The first three quarters were incredibly even, with never more than a few goals separating the teams and the lead changing hands multiple times.

It wasn’t until the second half of the final quarter that Karingal managed to get away from us.

There really isn’t much separating the top teams in this division, and our girls should be incredibly proud of the way they competed today — and throughout their finals campaign. 💙

From a 36–15 Elimination Final win last week to fighting for a Grand Final spot today, this group has shown just how far they have come together this season.

Hold your heads high, girls. You represented yourselves, your team and the Yabbies with pride. 🦞💙

🏐🦞 ROUND 17 NETBALL RESULTS 🦞🏐

Another fantastic Saturday of netball for our younger Yabbies, with some great teamwork, development and plenty of determination on court! 💙❤️💛

🩶 11U SILVER | 14–4 WIN v SOMERVILLE

A great win for Silver! There was some amazing game play on display, and it was fantastic to see so many of the drills the girls have been working on at training coming into their game.

❤️ 11U MAROON | 1–15 LOSS v FRANKSTON

A tough game for our Maroon girls, but they continued to work hard and play for each other right to the end. ❤️

💚 11U GREEN | 7–5 WIN v CRIB POINT

WHAT A GAME! 🔥💚

The girls brought it all today — great intercepts, strong ball movement, high intensity and plenty of pressure.

What really stood out was just how far this team has come. The last time we faced Crib Point, the results went their way 4–1 and 9–2. Just five weeks later, our girls turned it around and came away with a 7–5 WIN! 🙌

A brilliant example of development, growing confidence and learning to work together as a team.

Just one goal separated our littlest Yabbies and Baxter! Another great opportunity for our Aqua girls to get out on court, have fun and continue developing their netball skills. 🩵

We have helped many of our local organisations this year including Western Port Basketball, Western Port Biosphere, Kindred Clubhouse, Hastings Football Netball Club, SES Hastings Unit, Hastings RSL, Western Port Community Support, Crib Point Community House, Inspire Change Crew , Southern Peninsula Concert Band, Rotary Club of Somerville Tyabb, Tyabb Junior Football Netball Club and so many more. Putting back into our community is why we are here, a true local bank that cares.

2027 PUMA’S Expression of Interest. 🐾

🐾 2027 PLAYER EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NOW OPEN! 🐾

The Westernport Pumas is starting preparations for the 2027 season, and we’d love to hear from girls interested in pulling on the Pumas colours next year!

We are looking to field teams across:

🏉 Under 12s
🏉 Under 14s
🏉 Under 16s
🏉 Under 18s

Following tremendous growth in 2026, a number of our teams reached capacity and had to close registrations earlier than expected. With the continued growth of girls footy, we anticipate 2027 will be even bigger and better for the Pumas!

Existing Pumas players will be given priority, however we need to know that you are planning to return so we can make sure a spot is held for you. Completing the Expression of Interest is the best way to let us know you’re coming back.

The Pumas are all about creating a positive, inclusive and supportive environment where girls can develop their skills, build confidence, make great friendships and, most importantly, enjoy their footy.

Whether you’re a current Puma, returning to footy or looking to play for the very first time, we’d love to have you involved.

Today just wasn’t our day.

It was a real arm wrestle in the first quarter, but we were able to hold a slender lead going into the first break. Over the next two quarters, Devon Meadows were able to control the game just a little better than us and took a lead into the final quarter.

But the boys dug incredibly deep. They fought their way back and put themselves into a winning position, leading by 4 points with just two minutes to play. Unfortunately for us, Devon Meadows were able to find a way to score and ultimately take the premiership by just 2 points.

While the loss of a Grand Final hurts — and it will for a little while — I couldn’t be prouder of how these young men handled themselves through the disappointment. They gave everything they had, stuck together, and represented themselves, their families and the Yabbies with enormous pride.

This group has given us so many memories, moments and laughs throughout the year. Watching them grow, not just as footballers but as young men, has been an absolute privilege.

To the players — thank you. Thank you for trusting me, for giving everything you had, and for allowing me to be part of your journey. You should all be incredibly proud of what you have achieved.

And to the parents and families — thank you for allowing me to coach your sons. Your support, encouragement and commitment throughout the year have meant so much.

The result might not have been what we wanted today, but what this group has achieved together cannot be taken away.

Grand Final U11’s 2026

Not our day today unfortunately, but we couldn’t be prouder of the season the boys have had. It’s a massive effort and experience to make a Grand Final this early in their footy journeys. ❤️💛💙

We felt like Sth Mornington hadn’t seen us at our best throughout the season, and to their credit, they didn’t let us play Yabby footy today either.

The boys were hurting after the game, which is hard to watch, but it shows they care. I have no doubt the various emotions they’ve felt over the past three weeks will hold them in really good stead to come back better than ever next season.

So proud of this group and everything they’ve achieved this season. 🦞 Coach Matt.
