UNSW Raiders Gridiron Club

UNSW Raiders Gridiron Club The UNSW Raiders Gridiron Club, previously known as the Bondi Raiders, are a gridiron football club based in Sydney, Australia.

The Raiders currently field teams in the Colts (15-19yo), Mens (19yo+) and Womens full contact divisions of the Gridiron NSW League. We also run the Raiders Gridiron Academy for boys and girls aged 8-14. Preseason for all teams starts in the first week of June. Since the original establishment of the Waverley Raiders in 1979 by Stephen Jones, the Raiders have managed 10 State Championship titles,

including 5-straight between 1987 and 1991. All practices are at:

The UNSW Raiders are excited to announce Ben Finkel as our Quarterback for the 2026 season.

A Yale graduate, Ben joins us from the Copenhagen Towers, where he served as Quarterback, Captain, and U19 Head Coach.

“Ben is a great addition to the Raiders for the 2026 season as we push for a fourth straight Waratah Bowl, while we also continue to rebuild our Colts program.” - Coach Brewster
