Upgraded facilities include 3 hard-wicket nets plus brand new turf training-wickets, as well as an enclosed bowling machine net.

🏏 U10 RED SUMMARY

After having the bye last week the Red team were very keen to get at it in a first up away clash at Nairne.

Jackson was the captain and won the bat flip and with the threat of rain sent the home side in. Harry Tucker made two direct hit run outs inside the first five overs with Levi also taking an excellent running catch. Jackson also rattling the pegs.

Jackson and Levi started the run chase positively adding 22 followed up by Fletcher and Hayden who put on 15. Cousins, Harry and Boston Tucker combined for 15 before Weston and Jackson finished the innings off with 19.

An extremely tight finish in the end with the hosts home by a single run and without the need to enact the DLS.

A fantastic first up effort by the team with all but one player in their first season of U10s cricket.

The boys are on the quick back up this week with a Wednesday evening game against Langhorne Creek.

🏏 U10 WHITE SUMMARY

Earlier this evening the team travelled up to St Michael’s Primary School at Hahndorf not knowing how much of a game we would get in but dry and pleasant conditions greeted us on arrival.

Finn was our skipper tonight and we were asked to bat first with Henry and Bryce starting steadily adding 15. Oscar S and Finn took the score to 30 with Finn hitting our first boundary of the season. Lenny and Angus added 28 with Lenny clearing the boundary. Oscar H and Brodie finished the innings off strongly adding 30 with both batters finding the boundary. A solid effort by the boys with the bat and it was nice to see a few boundaries struck after it was tough going last week.

With the ball the lads went through the first bowling rotation with the hosts 0/28. Lenny then disturbed the stumps to cap off a good night out with Brodie doing the same later in the innings. A nice piece of team work between Finn and Angus secured a run out. The radar was a little off tonight but a good team effort in the field.

An encouraging effort by the boys in what was a very even contest with thanks to Hahndorf Black and coach Jarrad for the game.

🏏 SENIOR SELECTIONS - 31/10/2026

First week with four senior teams to fill and it hasn’t been without its challenges but we are good to go.

The A Grade have their first home game for the season when they host the Razorbacks.

The A2s head up to Hahndorf looking to secure their first win of the season with a couple of wily veterans on both sides likely to have a big say in the outcome.

Cousins and Schofield of the junior variety have earned a promotion to the C Grade while Grant Boxer has answered the SOS.

The D Grade welcome former premiership junior player in Ben Buckle and as with the C Grade junior Kovac and Vanderzon get an opportunity.

Another solid turn out to training and meals tonight which was fantastic to see.

Thanks very much to the Vanderzon family for preparing the delicious home made lasagne 👌

We had a special guest join us at training and for a meal in club legend Perry Jones who had an extra serving of salad 🥗

🍝 THURSDAY NIGHT MEALS / DRAWS

The ladies in the kitchen have certainly produced the goods the past two weeks and we go again tomorrow night with the menu as follows:

The turn out to training has been excellent in recent weeks and with another senior team now to fill it’s important that continues.

Two more social membership draws will be conducted and remember you need to be there to claim the cash prize which currently sits at $30.

Stallions Fantasy Wrap - Week 2 🏏💯

The Second Week of Stallions Fantasy was heavily interrupted, beginning with the A2's bye, and rounded out by the weather. Despite this, the newly formed D Grade were able to get a game in, meaning savvy (or lucky) coaches made the most of it.

The Victoria Hotel Player of the Week was U14 star Tyrian Cousins, who made himself at home in the senior grades. Tyrian steadied the D Grade innings with a knock of 26, before wrapping up the game with 2/2 from his 1 over, scoring 109 points. Fellow youngster Connor Schofield also made himself at home, finishing just behind Tyrian on 107 points, while Shane Stevenson performed well, ending on 103 points. Tyrian will receive the $20 Vic Hotel Voucher, where he can get himself a schnitzel if his Dad doesn't beat him to it first.

The Team of the Week for week 2 was Swany Roberts' team, the Sweggs Skittles. Swany benefitted greatly from the washouts around the club, with 5 of his 11 players coming from the D Grade, including Tyrian, Stevenson (103), Chapman (100) and Ryan Harvey (78). His score of 424 propelled his squad from 5th into 2nd, while the First Lady's XI still leads the league and is showing no signs of regression.

🏏 U12 SUMMARY

Sorry for the delay with posting this U12 update and there were certainly a few performances worthy of acknowledgement.

The team hosted Nairne White last Friday evening with the threat of rain easing and a full match completed.

After winning the toss and batting first the boys had a great night out with the bat posting 4/156 from their 20 overs with an exceptional knock from Wolf Kovac of 50 retired not out from only 19 deliveries, including three maximums. Wolf was well supported by Dayne Vanderzon (35) and Ben Cottle (26) who both retired not out while James Choat finished unbeaten on 11.

With the ball the lads restricted the Razorbacks to 4/66 with second gamer Dexter Barker picking up 2/10 and Wolf Kovac and Dayne Vanderzon taking a wicket each.

A fantastic effort by the whole team in their first home game of the season with another home match this week against Hahndorf.

🏏 CRICKET BLAST - STARTS THIS WEEK!

A reminder the clubs Term 4 Woolworths Cricket Blast program commences this Thursday and it’s not too late to register.

Blast will again be delivered as an after school program at the Eastern Fleurieu R-6 campus from 3.30-4.30pm on Thursday afternoon’s.

Potential participants are welcome to ‘Come & Try’ prior to formal registration but we ask that you contact the club before the first session.

A Blast pack in your favourite team colours is included with registration.

While it’s frustrating to lose matches due to wet weather it is always reassuring to know that the covers have done their job.

The covers went back on at around midday on Saturday just before heavy rain hit. We ended up losing the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association C Grade fixture and this afternoon’s Hills Fleurieu Veterans Cricket Club O60s match.

A bone dry pitch and square were revealed when the covers were removed this afternoon.

Thanks very much to the Langhorne Creek Cricket Club for loaning us a hessian.

Last but not least thanks to the club volunteers for helping get the covers on and off multiple times over the weekend 🙏

🏏 SUNDAY SCOREBOARD - SENIORS

Short reports for the A & C Grade games yesterday with both matches washed out and the points shared while the A2s had the bye.

Despite the threatening weather the D Grade fixture at EFS went ahead which was the first game played for premiership points on the redeveloped (and realigned) wicket.

The rain delay meant the match was reduced to 30 overs each with Echunga winning the toss and sending the Stallions into bat. After a successful morning on the Strath turf in the U14s, Tyrian Cousins backed it up with a top score of 26 with good supporting knocks from Chapman, Sherriff and Kuchel. Senior debutant Connor Schofield finished unbeaten on 13 with 7/144 posted.

The Miners batting innings started shakily with new ball bowlers Chapman & Stevenson both taking two early wickets to have the score at 4/18. Harvey and Schofield then followed up with two wickets each before Cousins struck twice to end the Echunga innings on 57 on the final ball of the 24th over.

It was a great first up win by the new D Grade unit with the three junior players in Cousins, Parsons and Schofield all making valuable contributions.
