🐔 Coaching Announcement Season 2026 🐔
This is a special one.

We’re proud to announce our Junior Colts coaches for the 2026 season:

Ethan Fox and Rob Donaldson

Ethan has played football for the Roosters for 18 years. He is a talented A Grade player, who is looking to expand his skills and take on the exciting challenge of stepping into his first coaching role with Rob D by his side as his highly experienced mentor.

This mixture of wisdom and depth of knowledge, and energy and talent combine to create a powerful force to guide our Junior Colts for the year ahead.

Rob Donaldson played SANFL at West Adelaide Football Club before coming to Strathalbyn where he has become Strath Roosters royalty over almost 30 years in various coaching and leadership roles, including A-grade coach from 2005 - 2007, and club President in 2017.

Junior Colts training is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 4:30pm.

Footy season is fast approaching, and if you're itching to get in to it like us - come along to our 6th Jason Lehmann Memorial Cup trial game against Waikerie Magpies Fc.

WHEN: March 28th

WHERE: Strathalbyn Footy Oval

TIME: Kick off is at 1:45pm..

BUT, please come along early and bring your family! This trial match coincides with our family fun day which begins at 12pm - a great day to celebrate footy, family, and friends.

There will be plenty of fun and games for the kids (watch this space for details), and the opportunity to see how our senior team is coming together for the season.

If you can't wait that long:

Our first trial game will be held at Mypolonga March 21st. Game times to be advised.

No experience necessary, you can come out, learn some skills, have some fun, and see how you like it!

We’re excited to announce Zac Milbank as the U14 Girls coach for the 2026 season.

A player and life member at Meadows, Zac has coached at various junior levels from Auskick through to U17s as both a head coach and assistant.

After enjoying his role as runner for the U14 girls for the past two seasons, he’s looking forward to building confidence and skills amongst the playing group, while ensuring the girls have plenty of fun while they’re at it!

🐔 Coaching Announcement Season 2026 🐔

We're thrilled to confirm that Ryan Dieprond is back to coach our girls this year, this time as our U17 Girls coach for the 2026 season.

This is Ryan’s 10th year involved with the Strathalbyn Football Club, and he’s been an incredible contributor over that time. He has been assistant coach of the 2018 GSFLW A Grade premiership side, and has coached our Women’s A-Grade and U14’s, before now taking on the role of coach for our lucky U17s.

Ryan says he’s “so excited about the 2026 season, and what this group of keen young women can achieve. Missing out on the Grand Final by one point burns a fire within the group that proves we can improve and hopefully get the opportunity to bring the club another premiership.”

🐔Coaching Announcement Season 2026 🐔

We’re excited to announce the return of Aaron Martin as our Mini Colts coach for the 2026 season.

After a successful year in 2025 he’s back to continue developing our emerging Roosters. Aaron (also known as Spud), has been one of Strath’s star players over the years, playing his junior footy for the Roosters before heading to South Adelaide to play league football. He returned to Strathalbyn to finish off his playing days in the A's.

Aaron has thoroughly enjoyed watching the boys develop from U10's in to the Mini Colts last year, which culminated in some exceptional passages of play in the later stages of the season.

His other highlight of last season includes the coaching staff vs player goal kicking comp, and he looks forward to continuing the coaches undefeated streak in 2026.

Aaron is keen to build on the foundations of last year, and welcome some exciting new players in to the group.

Mini Colts training will kick off on Tuesdays and Thursdays from next week! The first training will be held on March 3rd from 4:30-5:30pm.

🐔 Coaching Announcement Season 2026 🐔

We’re incredibly excited to announce our Auskick and Moddies Coaches for 2026.

From left to right:

🔴 Andrew Leane will be coaching our Under 8 side with the support of assistant coach Daniel Simounds.

🔴 Josh Pingel will return this year to help our under 9’s to develop and grow as players and as a team.

🔴 Chris Myer will take on coaching the under 10’s after a successful year with the under 9’s in the 2025 season.

🔴 And last, but so far from least, we’re proud to announce that past star Roosters player and award winning coach, Darcy Springhall, will be leading a unique, focussed, skills based, and inclusive Auskick program for our littlest Roosters in term 2 this year.

More details to follow as we introduce you all to each of our junior coaches over the next week, but for now, please join us in congratulating our exceptional Moddies and Auskick coaching team.

Our young Roosters are in the best of hands.

Moddies (U8, U9, U10) training will kick off on Wednesday March 18th 4:30 - 5:30 pm.
