๐คMost people think an injured joint needs complete rest.
Sometimes it does need protection - but that doesnโt often mean stopping movement altogether.
Your cartilage (including the cushioning in your knees and spinal discs) doesnโt have its own blood supply. Instead, it relies on gentle compression and release to help move nutrients through the tissue - much like squeezing and releasing a sponge.
Thatโs why the right movement can often be an important part of recovery.
One of my lovely ladies recently injured her knee and was understandably trying to protect it. Together, we found movements that respected her pain while keeping the rest of her body moving.
๐ If youโre recovering from an injury, donโt assume itโs all or nothing. The goal is often to find what you can do safely while your body heals.
Always follow the advice of your treating health professional, and if youโre unsure, ask what movements are appropriate for your stage of recovery AND Iโm here to help find the right service.
