What a year it has been! Here is a taste of the last 12 months and what you can see. The water conditions are good right now. Whale and grey nurse shark season is here, followed by hammerhead season mixed with whales in mid to late September. Then warm water season with rays and leopard shark aggregations, barracuda etc etc in March.

So proud to know you Nico!

So proud to know you Nico!

I’m pleased to share that one of my images received an Honourable Mention in the Colour Print category of the 2026 Ocean Geographic Pictures of the Year photo competition.

But what makes me even happier is seeing so many members of The Underwater Club recognised this year. In total, 11 members of The Underwater Club received awards, category wins, honourable mentions, or special mentions across the competition.

A special congratulations to Maryline Renault, who earned four awards including a category win, and to my friends Capozzola, Vanessa Mignon and Luc Rooman, who were also recognised in the “Colour Prints” category. Renée and Vanessa took 1st and 2nd place, while Luc and I received Honourable Mentions—the four of us “hanging out” together in Colour Prints 😊

My photo was taken in Montague Island (NSW, Australia), diving with Underwater Safaris Narooma 🦭

Congratulations to all the winners and finalists 👏
