Please post old photos, newspaper articles, stories, memories of what has been lost or maybe forgotten about Shepparton. Today it is an agricultural and manufacturing centre and the centre of the Goulburn Valley irrigation system, one of the largest centres of irrigation in Australia. By uplo

Around 1955 these 4 strapping young men from Shepparton travelled to Hobart for the Australian Amateur Boxing Title. They are Leo Guilmartin, Jimmy Carlos, Max Carlos and Peter Cody (who fought as Peter Cork) and they're wearing the cowboy hats they purchased at the local show over there. Sadly all four have passed on.

There must be a story behind this 1959 photo showing Trevaskis Arcade, High Street. A smashed window, a boy with a head bandage, a police officer, a car with a dented door...

In choosing the colour for Trevaskis Arcade, I referred to a 1967 colour photo from the Gloria Gallagher nee Davidson collection. Given the 8 years between these photos, it is possible the paint job could have changed, but it seemed like the safest bet. ~JM (SHC collection)
