Glimpses of the speed we know is there at Round 4 of the Australian Kart Championship 🏁

Friday practice started strongly, but Saturday’s wet conditions changed the complexion of the weekend.

Qualifying didn’t go to plan. Mason struggled to find his groove early in the session and, by the time his pace began to build, catching and passing other karts made it difficult to put together a clean lap.

Starting the heats from 20th meant being right in the thick of it. In both of the opening heats, Mason was boxed around and shuffled towards the back through the opening corners.

From there, the speed started to show.

Outright fastest lap in Heat 2 🟪
Purple for a large part of Heat 3 while driving back through the field to eighth 🏎
Plenty of passes across Heats 2 and 3, followed by another solid drive in Heat 4.

Unfortunately, being caught in the wrong place at the wrong time—or being pushed into the kart ahead—resulted in three drop-down penalties and a total of 12 positions lost across the heat races.

We were then too conservative with our setup for the final. As the sun properly came out while we were sitting on the grid, we knew we were likely to be in trouble. Mason battled through to finish 26th.

A frustrating weekend on paper, with the final result not reflecting the speed Mason showed along the way. There were still some very encouraging signs—the outright pace was there; we just couldn’t bring all the pieces together when it mattered.

Saturday done at AKC Round 4 🏁

A tough qualifying session left us with plenty of work to do, and some ordinary starts made the opening races harder than they needed to be.

The big positive was the pace — going purple for fastest lap in the final dry race of the day. 🟣

Plenty to work on overnight and another opportunity tomorrow. 👊

Golden Power Series – Numurkah 🏁

A solid sixth-place finish at our home round, although we were certainly hoping for a little more.

Mason missed qualifying third by just 0.002 seconds, leaving us on the outside for the opening heats. Both starts proved costly, dropping him well down the order and giving him plenty of work to do.

The pace was strong throughout the weekend and Mason drove well to fight his way back through the field. The final result may not fully reflect the speed we had, but sixth after being deep in the field was a solid fight back.

A big thank you to everyone who continues to support Mason, especially to our family and friends that attended over the weekend.

🏁 **Golden Power comes to our home track!**

This weekend we’re back at Goulburn Valley Kart Club for Round 5 of the Golden Power Series.

Although it’s our home circuit, last weekend was Mason’s first time around Numurkah in a junior kart. We gathered some valuable laps and now we’re ready to take on a strong field at home.

Looking forward to a big weekend! 💪

A strong weekend at our home track and our first race meeting here in Juniors.

⚡ Qualifying – Pole
🏆 Heat 1 – P1 🟣
🏆 Heat 2 – P1
🥈 Heat 3 – P2 🟣
🥈 Final – P2 🟣

Two wins and two seconds left us tied on points for the overall, with P2 on countback.

Fastest lap in 3 of the 4 races, including the final lap of the Final as we crossed the line just 0.104s from the win. Great job by , good battles all day!

Some great racing and plenty learnt ahead of Golden Power here next weekend. 🏁

City of Melbourne Titles | Weekend Wrap Up

A weekend that promised more, but one we're still proud of.

With 52 Junior t drivers entered, it was always going to be action packed. Mason continued to build speed all weekend, qualifying 13th before putting together a strong set of heats to line up well for the final.

Unfortunately, the final didn't go to plan. Big contact in Turn 1 left Mason facing the wrong direction and effectively at the back of the field before the race had even begun.

From there, it was all about determination. He never gave up, fought hard every lap, and recovered to finish 14th in the final.
