AVSL Round 2 is at Frankston this Saturday, 24 October! 💚🖤

Entries close at 12pm (midday) on Wednesday 21 October — Melbourne time.

Sandy athletes: your best three individual event scores count towards the club total, and there’s also a Throw & Go option.

We also need triple jump helpers at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Helpers can claim $50 per two-hour session.

It was great to see so many of you competing at Murrumbeena last weekend. We also hosted our first-ever AVSL throws session at our home track. A big thank you to Kathy T and the throws group members who covered our club helper duties.

2026 Victorian Premier Division XCR champions - women and men.

The Tan Relays closed the season on Saturday and sealed the double: Sandy holds both top-tier Victorian premierships for 2026.

Ten rounds of road, cross country and relays, decided by depth and consistency and by everyone who pulled on the green singlet this season. Congratulations to every athlete, and to the coaches, volunteers and supporters who made the campaign possible.

Working bee at the track this Sunday.

10am, Sunday 20 September, Glamis Avenue, Hampton.

On the list: club room clear-out, gym tidy, a tidy around the track and repairs to the railings, emptying the drains before the summer season, shifting the rubbish behind the rear green sheds, and digging up the jumps pits with the rotary hoe.

Come for the morning or for half an hour - every pair of hands makes a difference. Bring work gloves if you have them, and a rake, broom or wheelbarrow if you can spare one. Otherwise just turn up in clothes you do not mind getting dirty.

🏆🏆 DOUBLE GOLD at Jells Park
Sandy took both Premier Open relays at XCR Round 2 — Female Open 5×6km and Male Open 6×6km. Six men's legs all under 19:10. Mia Roux led the women's relay with the fastest split of the day.
Also: gold in Male Div 4, silver in Female U18 (two seconds off Box Hill), bronze in Female Div 2. Full results in the member email.
Next up: XCR Round 3 at Ravenswood, Saturday 30 May.

Sandy Aths — our 96th AGM and Awards Night is on Fri 29th May at the Brighton Beach Hotel.

6:30pm for a 7:00pm AGM start, followed by Awards Night.
$30 per head, 2-course meal, raffle, guests welcome.

Expected to sell out — book early via RevSport. RSVPs close Mon 25th May.
