NO PLFC SUPPORTERS
The club wishes to update Preston Lions supporters regarding the upcoming fixture against Heidelberg.
Following ongoing discussions with Football Victoria, Heidelberg, and other key stakeholders, it has been decided that, in the best interests of the club and the safety of our supporters, Preston Lions supporters are not permitted to attend this match. This decision has been made as a risk mitigation measure to protect the wellbeing of our members and supporters.
Despite continued engagement with all parties, we were unable to reach an agreed position that provided the required confidence around supporter safety, access, matchday operations, security, policing, and traffic management. In these circumstances, a responsible decision has been made.
The game deserves clear processes and a well-organised matchday experience. We must prioritise the safety of our community and supporters.
We remain disappointed that the necessary arrangements could not be finalised in time and believe this highlights the importance of stronger planning and shared responsibility moving forward. Football Victoria plays a key role in this process, and we will continue to work constructively with all stakeholders to improve outcomes for future fixtures.
We remind all supporters that they are not to attend this match and must respect the decision regarding this fixture.
We encourage our supporters to gather as one from 1:00pm at Mystique, where the match will be shown live on the screens.
