Fish like this mean so much to me! ✅
People see the fish, but what they don’t see are the years of knowledge gained, lessons learnt, uncomfortable nights spent fishing in rubbish weather and the fatigue that comes with chasing fish like this.
As a young fella, I put countless hours into learning about these fish; their habits, the spots and the changes they go through from year to year. They’ve always amazed me, and the best part is I’m still learning.
Through it all, I’ll never lose sight of what fishing has given me the experiences with good mates, family, important yarns and the times spent braving it out solo.
When I catch a good fish like this, I always stop for a moment and think about how grateful I am. Then when you watch it swim away, all those memories come flooding back.
