Congratulations to our 2026 nominees for the Shane and Cassie Joyce Manta Rays of the Year award.
The award winner will be announced this Friday Night at the U10 Mixed, U11 Mixed, U12Mixed and U12Girls Grand Final Night.
U9 - Zane Davis
Leads by example in training and games. Fearless tackler, with a great work rate, and never takes a backward step.
U10 - Stevie Combridge
Stevie has shown herself to be up for any challenge representing both The Manta Ray U10s at TASRC, State Gala, Coastal Cup and MNC Tomahawks U12Gs Development team at Narrabeen. Being the only girl at TASRC in the U10's age group and 1 of only a few to attend state gala Stevie gives a 110% each time she takes the field and lets her rugby do the talking. Her development, dedication and willingness to play above and beyond is to be commented.
U11 - Levi Stewart
Levi is the definition of a team-first player. While he may not be the biggest on the field, he plays with courage, determination and a heart far bigger than his size. He never hesitates to put his body on the line and will do whatever the team needs, whether it’s making a crucial tackle, supporting a teammate or doing the hard work that often goes unnoticed. Levi encourages those around him and sets a standard that inspires his teammates.
U12 - Rex Wellings
Rex always attends training with a smile on his face and a great attitude ready to give it 100%. An awesome teammate who is always positive and helps teammates who are down. Extremely coachable and a great team player.
U14 Girls - Penny Vogel
Penny is a true Manta Ray leader, guiding the team through the good times and the bad times. Always uplifting the spirit of the game and keeping it alive. A kind and respectful player both on and off the field.
U16 Girls - Isla Gill
Isla is such a powerful ambassador for Rugby Union. Her infectious spirit, care for her teammates and drive to grow in her skill set makes her a pleasure to coach. From recruiting her friends to strong forwards carries and tackles, Isla leads by example.
