GREAT NEWS FOR OUR NORTHERN REGION!

We are very happy to advise that DBNSW has now secured State Coaches for the Northern Region, which means the Northern Region State Team campaign is back on!
Following our previous advice that the Northern Region State campaign could not proceed without the required coaching leadership, we are delighted that coaches have now stepped forward to support our Northern Region athletes and lead the team through the upcoming State campaign.
This is fantastic news for our Northern Region members and ensures athletes have the opportunity to continue along the representative pathway, come together as a Region and represent NSW at the 2027 Australian Championships in Adelaide.

Unfortunately, despite calling for Expressions of Interest, DBNSW has not received an EOI for the position of Northern Region State Coach for the upcoming State campaign.
As a result, we are disappointed to advise that a Northern Region State Team will not be entered in the 2027 Australian Championships in Adelaide.
We recognise this will be disappointing news for paddlers across the Northern Region who may have been looking forward to the opportunity to represent their Region and NSW at AusChamps.
A State Coach is essential to lead the program, coordinate athlete preparation and training, and ensure the team is appropriately supported throughout the campaign. Without someone able to take on this role, unfortunately the Northern Region campaign cannot proceed.
Northern region paddlers are still welcome and encouraged to send EOI for the Divisional State Teams. ie Prem/A/B/C
DBNSW remains committed to supporting and developing representative opportunities across all regions, and we hope to see the Northern Region return strongly in future campaigns.
