Big weekend for Danil and Eva at the Sunraysia Dirt Karters All Powers event at Timmis Speedway đ
Danil competed in both Standard Light and All Powers, while Eva stepped into Juniors as her Standard motor is still being rebuilt.
Standard Light
Danil started the day strong with a solid drive in heat 1, crossing the line in 5th before being handed a 2-position penalty. Heat 2 didnât go our way after we completely missed the setup, leaving him to finish toward the rear.
We bounced back in heat 3, with Danil putting in a great drive to take the win by around half a straight. Unfortunately, minor contact saw another 2-position penalty applied.
Starting near the back of the pack for the final, Danil drove brilliantly, avoided a last-corner spinner, and crossed the line in P4 with an excellent drive through the field.
All Powers
Danil ran my AIDKA motor for heat 1, and with no real expectationsâhaving never run it for speedway beforeâhe put together a great run from P10 to finish P5. Unfortunately, the motor let go right as he crossed the line.
After a quick motor swap and running out of time, we headed into heat 2 with the wrong gearing. Starting from P2, we only had a 9-tooth gear on the front and were miles off where we needed to be. Danil still fought hard, holding P3 for a while before a restart bunched the field back up, eventually finishing toward the rear.
Heat 3 and the final were frustrating, with the chain repeatedly coming off after a loose keyway caused issuesâbut full credit to Danil for giving it everything and battling through.
Eva â Juniors
Eva had a strong outing in the Junior class and gained some valuable seat time. She gave it everything all weekend and, despite being around 30kg over minimum weight and running an unknown, severely underpowered motor, she kept improving and learning every lap.
She focused on getting her lines right, building confidence, and even had a go at tuning for the first timeâwhich was a big step forward. Sheâs improving every time she gets behind the wheel, and the more laps she gets, the quicker sheâll become. Sheâs already counting down until she can jump back in with her Standard motor.
Proud of both kids for pushing through the highs and lows of the weekend. Plenty learned, plenty to improve on, and weâll keep working hard and come back stronger next time. đđĽ
Big thanks must go again to James Chapman Kart 57 racing for the loan of a J exhaust and the 40mm header pipe. Also to all our sponsors.
