Update from last nights racing at Sunline Speedway for Round 5 of the Junior Sedan Southern Showdown …..
THE CAR FINISHED THE MEETING!!!! 🎉👏🙌🏁🤣

Ryan had a good solid nights racing, securing two third placings in the heat races, and crossed the final in 3rd place. There were high-fives all around with the crew when the car saw the chequered flag for the first time in a long time!! 🤣

It was lovely to catch up with friends and have a few laughs, sad to farewell those ageing out (but it’s not goodbye, it’s catch ya soon!) ❤️

Great job to Peter for jumping in the seat of the Modified and having some fun while showing the youngsters how it’s done!! 😜

After watching the weather all week with fingers & toes crossed, we have rolled into Sunline Speedway Waikerie today on a beautiful sunny day!! ☀️
Ryan is racing in the final round of the Junior Sedan Southern Showdown series today, with the aim of having fun, going fast and crossing the chequered flag at the end of the meeting! 🤞

We used last weeks weather to our advantage and have headed down the highway to Blue Ribbon Raceway today to race as part of the rescheduled Junior Sedan Promotion Association of Victoria Series.

Got our bad luck out of the way nice & early. Brains Trust has assessed the track. Now it’s time to go racing and have a freaking awesome day!! 🤞🤞

🏁 National Volunteer Week 🏁

In the middle of National Volunteer Week, we at Burns Racing want to take a moment to recognise and thank the incredible volunteers who are the heartbeat of speedway.

What happens on the track is only possible because of the countless hours put in behind the scenes — before, during, and after every single event.

From complex improvements, track preparation, to cleaning and maintenance. From the ticket sales, canteen teams, administration, to the control tower, committee members and organisers. To the infield officials, fire crew, pit box crews, control tower, push car drivers, pit crews and flaggies — and everything in between…

You set up, pack down, keep things safe, keep things running, and keep our sport alive.

And that’s just naming a few of the many roles taken on by volunteers — there are so many, many, MANY more that often go unseen.

💛 Quite simply, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love without you. We see you. We acknowledge you. We appreciate you. 🥰

Your passion, commitment and tireless efforts make speedway what it is — a true community.

Well, this past weekend went from hopeful, to optimistic, to devastating, to excited, to heartbreak, to a bit of fun to round it out….

Racing at home at B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura Saturday night as part of the Junior Sedan Southern Showdown series, fingers and toes were crossed that the issues plaguing us had been fixed. Ryan drove a great half of a lap before ending our night extremely prematurely with a broken clutch plate. Not ideal, but we got to perch up and watch a great night of racing. 🤷‍♀️

After a late night & morning in the shed, we took the car out to practice day at Timmis, as we still didn’t know if the car was all good! Ryan had two good runs, and look out, the car behaved itself!! Until the third run where some wiring managed to get loose and melt, ending our day. 🤦‍♀️

A huge thanks to Violet Thorne and team for offering Ryan a go in her Mirage. It didn’t take much convincing for him to jump in and take it for a spin!! It was nice to end the day on a high with a smile on our faces! 😁

We will head to Waikerie on Saturday night for the final JSSS Round to have yet another go. It’s what ya do! 👍💪

Ryan is hitting the track at our local B&S Earthworks Timmis Speedway Mildura tomorrow night as part of the Junior Sedan Southern Showdown Series Round.

A quality field of Junior Sedans will be pumped and ready to do what they do best - go fast!! 🤙

Very cool to once again have the three generations racing on the same night with Wade McCarthy and Peter McCarthy also having fun in the dirt.

This is the last meeting at Mildura this season, so get out there, make a night of it, support our local club, the drivers who are there to entertain, and have a bloody good night. 👍😁
