From The Bird Nest.
Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, Div 1 had a nice win to close the regular season out.
It looked bad early on with a couple of errors letting unearned run to score, and a bunch of walks by both sides…..
4Dylan, Dan and Bailey were the only Hawks to hit in the first 4 innings, but we were able to keep in touch.
After 5, Bandits were 8- 5 up, thanks to Cam and Steve Edwards hitting, and a 2-run bomb from Ryley Mitchell.
With hits from Dan and Bailey (his second), Jake forcing an E6, we snuck to a couple behind.
Mickey relieved Coby of the pitching responsibilities to start the 6th, getting Pittaway to ground out.
He walked Cody Clifford who then scored on Cams 4th hit of the game, then walked Riley.
He than managed to get Langanke to ground into a perfectly executed double play, headed by W***y.
9-6 Bandits.
W***y led off in the 6th with a triple of Blake Pittaway, Zhoe walked, Zach forced an err scoring W***y and putting Zhoe on third. Nate walked and Ash flied out to the third baseman.
After fouling one straight back, Mickey put the next pitch over the left field fence, scoring 3 runs and walking it off for the game. A good team effort.

At the moment, it looks like our presentation night will be held on Friday, September 11.

Div 2 finished their season off with a solid 15-9 win over Eagles Red.
Yet another game highlighting the lack of pitching at this level with a combined 22 walks issued.
Mickey and Bruce finished with 3 rbi’s each.

Div 1 was another embarrassing shut-out with Eagles cruising to a very comfortable 21-0
win.
On the bump, Dan and Mickey gave up 15 hits, including a home run each. That brings Mickeys total for the year to a few, the teams total given up to 10.
On the bright side, Zhoe played her first Div 1 game, and there’s only one game to go.

Div 2 have just about done their dash for finals after going down to Bandits Black on the weekend.
We had no answer to the Clifford battery, taking just 1 hit off them.
Rod led off the second inning with a single.
Keegan led off in the third with a single.
The Bandits changed pitcher, and Brendan, Chris and, in his return game, Billy all hit in the last inning scoring two runs, but by then the horse had bolted.
On the flip side, we only had 3 strikeouts for the game and only committed 3 errs.

In the Mental Health Awareness shield game v Bandits, we finally scored a win.
Rocket was exemplary on the mound, pitching the complete game, giving up just 3 hits and striking out 7.
Mickey, Bailey, and Druz each had a two-hit game, Druz receiving a nasty gash after sliding into second.
Louis and Druz drove/walked three runs in each.
At this point, I’d like to congratulate Kat Stephens(?) on her debut as a Plate umpire.
