🎯 Newcastle Olympic Squad of the Week
What a massive weekend for the club! Across 10 matches, our teams battled hard, racking up a total of 23 goals. With 3 wins and 1 draw, the Olympic spirit was on full display from the PYL youngsters right up to our senior squads. This is our last Squad for the year we would like to thank the coaches for their nominations, the players for doing their thing and last but not least our wonderful sponsor
⚽ A special shout-out to Rhys Butler for his two absolute standout goals in the NPLM Reserve Grade Qualifying Final, helping secure a brilliant 3-2 victory over Cooks Hill United! Also, massive mentions to Ruby O'Brien for netting 4 goals for the PYL U13 Girls, and Charlie Goodwin for his clinical hat-trick in the PYL U16 Boys' 6-3 win.
👑 Captain of the Week: Josh Cox
Congratulations to Josh Cox from ZPL Reserve Grade! Josh was our First Grade keeper last year but suffered a freak hand injury in the off-season which ruled him out of keeping for the year. He hardly missed a beat, constantly turning up to training to help our keepers, and as his injury recovered, he started joining in as an outfield player. After playing off the bench in Reserve Grade recently, he stepped up and scored a cracking header this week in the win against Swansea!
That kind of resilience and dedication makes him a very deserving Captain for this week's squad.
