Happy Birthday She and the Sea!!
It’s been 5 years since the brain child of took off with a few like minded “gurfers” getting involved.
We are now a fully established board club with over 50 active members and families!
A massive thank you to all our sponsors who help get us the equipment, our committee and brains trust doing all the behind the scenes work and of course, TO YOU OUR MEMBERS!
You keep us all frothing and smiling every time we see you! From the Mum and Dads who push our Mermaids onto set waves and battle the rips, to our young guns making sure us oldies are always kept on our toes!
Here’s too many more “DID YOU SEE MY TURN?!”, “Oh no not another wave on the head” and “I had so much fun out there with my friends!”

2026 Sponsor Shoutout!

Sunday Comp is Cancelled!
Unfortunately due to the forecast, we have decided to cancel this Sunday’s comp at Dixon Park 😢
BUT… we will be heading to Blacksmiths for a social surf from 8:30am! We’ll fire up the BBQ, have cold drinks and hopefully get some small waves!! We’d love to see you down there! Bring the family, bring all the boards and bring your paddling arms as we may have a few games and races too…🥳🥳🥳

Come down to next Tuesday 6pm to meet our amazing She and the Sea committee. We have opening roles for new and returning members.
No surfing expertise required- just the stoke for creating a supportive environment for our members and community.

Slimes Boardstore Newcastle sponsored our first comp of the year and wow, what a vibe!
We had it all: heavy rain, superb sunshine, cold drinks and hot bacon. We absolutely loved meeting all the new members and seeing our familiar favourites too!
All surfers will start their yearly point totals, which counts towards the yearly championship. Congratulations to all our surfers!
Special Mentions:
- Our newest Mermaid, Rocky, for overcoming her fears of white water and taking on one of the set waves of the day, thanks to Dad, Mitch Ross.
- Our very own Grant and Sponsorship Manager, Larissa, for her first proper-full-ocean-spray turn
- Our Longboard Queen, Mikaela, for the best claim of the day
- Everyone that helped in the judges tent, especially the old boys judging the finals
