My heart is breaking 💔

I can't believe that we are saying goodby to our precious Eirene.

She was such a special, talented lady and such an integral part of my ballet journey, as well as the KZN ballet world.

Just standing by the barre each week and getting to hear and dance to her beautiful melody always made me feel whole.

I can hear her tender strokes along the keys as we did our second set of port de bras, I can picture her vibrant playing when she played a beautiful Spanish waltz that would make me jump and soar even higher. Then there was my favourite piece that she would play for me, reminding me why I love to dance.

She was truly amazing and I was blessed to spend so much of my dance life with her. Working alongside her each week, it felt like we were ways in sync like she read my mind knowing instinctively whatever I needed her to play.

Eirene was by my side through all my major and teaching exams. Always so supportive, so kind. Always encouraging me.

So many young dancers will remember her kindness, encouragement, and calming presence. She gave so much of herself through her music and touched more lives than she will ever know.

The dance world has lost a truly beautiful soul.
Thank you, Eirene, for the music, the memories, all the wonderful chats and the love you gave to all us dancers. A part of you will always remain in my heart whenever I hear those pieces played. I will miss you my friend.

MY FAVOURITE TIME OF YEAR

That time of year again when I start preparing for our Studio Show, listening to sooo much music and looking at 100's of costume ideas. And get to spend hours choreographing (my happy place).

This year's theme is AROUND THE WORLD and is going to be a fun one, with lots of props and different styles to work on.

Looking forward to get going!

SLEEPING BEAUTY BALLET WORKSHOP

Join CDB Dance this July Holidays for a magical 3-Day Sleeping Beauty Ballet Workshop!

Over three special days, dancers will work together to create a mini Sleeping Beauty performance, learning choreography, character work, ballet technique and storytelling inspired by the beautiful classical ballet.

- Two levels available
- Learn repertoire inspired by the Sleeping Beauty ballet
- Solos & duet opportunities for older dancers
- Ballet & performance skills, using props and costumes
- A wonderful teamwork and performance experience

Junior Level — Ages 5–9 9:00am – 10:30am
Senior Level — Ages 10–16 10:30am – 12:00pm

Dates: 6th, 7th & 8th July

Cost: $35 per day or $70 for all 3 days

Venue: Saltwater Community Centre, Point Cook
