Couldn’t be prouder of my kids 🤍
What I love most about them is their willingness to push boundaries and try something new, even when there’s fear involved. Because at the end of the day, we dance for happiness, not stress.
So even in a competition setting where they are competing against professionals and dance teachers, they walked on stage with full hearts, pure innocence, and one simple goal, to share their art with fellow dance lovers. Competitions should never take away the joy of dancing.
That’s exactly why we don’t repeat our sets… where’s the joy in that? And that’s also why we don’t fear posting our dance performances either, art is to be shared not protected! And it’s also why we don’t audition kids for competitions. Instead, we train our entire intermediate class and give every child the chance to experience what it feels like to be on that stage. If that makes us look weaker - be it ! It’s the heart of each child that weights a ton more than external validation.
What’s the worst that can happen, failure? From someone who has failed many times before, I live breath and preach “Apna time aayega” 😆Underdogs don’t break, they bend, learn and come back stronger.
By giving them all this opportunity, they get to witness their own growth. And for those of you who’ve been watching them over the years, you get to follow their journeys too. My joy as a teacher comes from creating these experiences. I don’t choose not to audition because I can’t… I choose not to because every child is special, and it’s my responsibility to help each of them rise.
These kids worked incredibly hard last term, and so did their teachers. A special shoutout to Thu from Lighthouse Studios, whose world-class training in technique and skill has truly helped elevate our intermediate kids.
Out of 3 groups, 2 placed as First Runner-Up, and 1 out of 2 solos took 1st place 🏆
So proud of these results but even more proud of the community we’re building. ❤️
This was our very first time attempting duets, and while none of our 5 duets placed, I couldn’t be prouder of these kids. There wasn’t even a separate kids’ category, they went up against adults and professionals and dance teachers and still showed up with courage, commitment, and heart. Even the 6yo’s 😅 Dum hai 💪🏼
That’s a win in itself ✨
We grow, we learn, and we come back stronger.💪
Everyone walked away tired, but proud of themselves, their teams, and their VIBE family.
Well done, VIBE fam. Together, we are stronger ✨
