Finally, a win for over 50s. 🧠

New research just made the case for why the older brain doesn't decline; it reorganises.

The full breakdown is on our website this week, and honestly, it's a. very interesting read.

This is Jan, Be Well co-founder.

In the last 6 months, she started working with one of our physiotherapists and began a proper lifting weights plan at Be Well. Since starting, she's noticed real shifts in both her mental and physical wellbeing.

Here are 6 things Jan can now do since she started lifting:

1. Run up and down her street with her 20kg granddaughter
2. Walk up and down stairs at train stations and airports, no rails, no worries, luggage in hand
3. Lift her own luggage into the overhead locker with ease
4. Play pickleball harder and faster than ever (her kids are impressed)
5. Feel mentally as well as physically stronger
6. Hold a wall sit for 5 minutes, up from just 30 seconds when she started

It's never too late to start.

If you haven't been to Be Well before, our 12-week Body & Lifestyle Program is a great place to begin. Come see how 3 months can improve your all round vitality.

As long-standing Be Well member Kate put it: "Coming to Be Well is like growing an oak tree. Nothing is rushed."

Honestly, we couldn't say it better ourselves.

No shortcuts. No injuries from doing too much too soon. Just steady, gentle growth that adds up to real strength, the kind you can feel in everyday life. Picking things up with ease. A stronger yoga practice. Muscles you're proud to show off (we see you, Jan and Kate).

And if you're over 40 and have never seen muscle definition on your own body before, it doesn't mean it's too late, you can start at Be Well like Kate and Jan.

This is what progress over perfection can look like.

Twelve weeks. That's all it takes to start.

Not years of discipline. Not some far off transformation. Twelve weeks of showing up, consistently, is enough to shift your bone density, your cardiovascular fitness, your muscle strength, your mood.

We pulled the research on exactly what happens to your bones, muscles, heart and mind when you commit to twelve weeks at Be Well. Swipe through for the numbers.

Want the full breakdown, studies and all? Head to our Live Well Journal, link in bio.

And if you'd love this kind of research landing in your inbox every week, pop your email in while you're there. We send it through in our newsletter so you never have to go looking for it.

There’s so much noise out there about what health and fitness is supposed to look like.

"Lifting weights is bad for your joints." It's simply not true.

Your bones need load to stay strong. Heavy, progressive resistance training is what actually grows bone density, not the gentle stuff we're often told is "safer" as we age.

Skip it, and the risk isn't just weaker bones. It's higher falls risk, poorer heart health, and a brain that isn't getting the benefits lifting gives it too.

Our physio-led Bone Vitality Program is open and available to you. Comment "BONE STRENGTH" below, and we'll send you the link (Hawthorn VIC locals only; this one's in-person with our physio team).

Two years ago, Dr Amantha Imber was fantasising about being hospitalised, just for the rest. That's how burnt out she was. So she spent the next two years researching and testing every energy strategy she could find when it comes to preventing burnout, and The Energy Game is everything she discovered.

Join us In Conversation with Dr Amantha Imber and Jan Owen, Be Well Co-founder, about Amantha's new book, The Energy Game.

It's a relaxed, in-person evening full of practical tips and great vibes, simple ways to boost your energy, stay motivated, and feel your best every day. Perfect for anyone wanting to energise their life and connect with like-minded folks.
