🎾 A Great Weekend of Tennis for our Club members!🎾

Jack and Emily represented Forster at the North East Champion of Champions event in Grafton.

A huge congratulations to Emily, who won the Lower Point Score event and finished runner-up in the 12 Girls’ Singles! 🏆🥈

We also had a fantastic representation of Forster Tennis Club seniors competing at the Cundletown Seniors Championships, with Redo and Sutto celebrating a win! 🏆

A full wrap-up of the seniors’ results is still to come. Well done to everyone who represented our club! 👏🎾

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen...
Welcome to Week 8, where the tension has reached levels not seen since someone accidentally opened a new can of tennis balls with scissors. With just two weeks remaining, players are feeling the pressure. Mostly in their knees.
At the top of the ladder... Maso continues to cling to first place with 112 points. But breathing heavily just over his shoulder is Jai on 111. One point. That's all that separates them. I've seen larger margins on a line call.
Lurking in third is Redo on 108, proving that while two blokes are busy watching each other, someone else can quietly steal the silverware. Ben sits fourth with 107, while Matt B rounds out the Top Five on 104.

NEWS FROM AROUND THE COURTS
Court 9 featured players whose names were all three letters or fewer... ...except Noah, who insisted on bringing an extra letter.
The biggest talking point of the evening came when Mo turned his cap backwards. Witnesses reported..."...it was ON!" Exactly what "it" was remains unclear.Police have established a perimeter.
Court 5
Ty, Jayson, Brock and Matt B battled it out in a series of quality matches. Everyone played well. Matt B claimed court honours with a perfect 18 points. Coincidentally, that's also the number of times Brock claimed his last ball was "just long."
Court 10
Matt H, Steve, Royce and Brad arrived full of enthusiasm. Unfortunately the matches were over almost before the warm-up.
6-0... 6-0... 6-2. If a fast game is a good game...then this was Formula One. The Serve-and-Volley King never had time to appear.
He was still making his way to the net when the handshakes began.
Brad took court honours with 14 points.
Court 3
Marcus produced another classy performance, taking court honours with 17 points. Shane followed with 16, Maso 14, and Ashley 11. The tennis was first class throughout, with scores of 6-4, 6-5 and 6-2. That's what we in the detective business call... "...very difficult to predict."
Court 7
Stuart, Curtis W and Garry spent much of the evening standing in awe of Roman's perfect 18-point performance. Roman insists it was nothing. The score sheet disagrees.
Court 1
Lauren D stole the show with 17 points. Jai managed 15, Stacey 14, while Craig B finished with 10. Lauren later claimed she was simply "seeing the ball well." Jai claims he was distracted by the scoreboard. The scoreboard has denied all allegations.
Court 2 – THE BIG GUNS
If you happened to be playing anywhere near Court 2...you probably didn't hear your own match. All anyone could hear was the sound of tennis balls exploding. Nathan claimed court honours with 17 points, ahead of Reagan and Jesse on 16, while Miles finished on 13. However...The highlight of the evening came when Nathan attempted a thunderous smash at the net...and somehow hit the side fence before anything else.It's a shot rarely seen in tennis.
Mostly because it's impossible.Yet somehow...Nathan found a way.
Physics has lodged an official complaint.
Court 8
Family rivalry was alive and well as Carolin and Curtis politely shared 11 points each.Richard finished with 8, while Ben reminded everyone why he's sitting near the top of the ladder with another perfect 18-point performance. Christmas lunch could get awkward.
Well ladies and gentlemen...
Only two weeks remain in Season 3 of TNT 2026. Can Jai complete the comeback? Can Maso survive the pressure of leading? Will Redo, sitting just four points behind, swoop in while everyone else is watching the wrong suspect? At this point...Anything is possible.
Except apparently hitting an overhead into the side fence.

The scoreboard never lies... although occasionally the people writing on it do.

Time to give your racquet a spring refresh with a fresh set of strings!

A simple rule of thumb: restring your racquet as many times per year as you play per week.

🎾 Play once a week → restring at least once a year
🎾 Play twice a week → twice a year
🎾 Play 3 times a week → 3 times a year

TNT WEEK 6 – THE CASE OF THE CHANGING LEADER
Good evening ladies and gentlemen... We kicked off Spring the only way TNT knows how... With a full house of 36 players.
Thirty-six finely tuned athletes arrived determined to transform their winter bodies into spring masterpieces and unleash all those new skills they'd learnt from watching Wimbledon. Sadly... those players couldn't make it. So our usual mob turned up instead.
Now before we get to last night's action...We have developments in The Case of the Missing Point. During the week one of our front-runners detected an error in last week's scoring. After an exhaustive investigation involving calculators, slide rulers, score sheets and at least three people squinting at a spreadsheet... It was confirmed that Jai had actually been leading by one point. Those responsible have accepted full responsibility. Their punishment? They've all been demoted to Official Orange Peelers for next week's competition.
Justice has been served. But this week... The plot thickens. There's a new sheriff in town. Maso has timed his run perfectly and storms into first place on 98 points. Jai sits just behind on 96. Redo follows with 94. Craig B climbs into fourth on 91. And Ben rounds out the Top 5 with 89 points.
At this stage the leaderboard is tighter than a tennis string after an overenthusiastic restring. Three weeks remain... Nobody is safe. Especially the orange peelers.

NEWS FROM AROUND THE COURTS
Last night was our Mid-Season Special Doubles Night, featuring teams of four. Unfortunately, this completely overwhelmed everyone. Not a single court submitted any match notes.
Apparently asking tennis players to both play and write was expecting too much.
Courts 5 & 10
Isiah, Matt H, Royce and Curtis squared off against Jayson, Brock, Steve and Brendon. After plenty of close tennis, Jayson's team escaped 50–48 winners. That's only two games. Or, depending on who you ask... ...about six unforced errors.
Court honours went to Isiah with a perfect 18 points. Coincidence?
Probably.
Courts 1 & 2: Jesse, Shane, Tania and Redo managed 54 points.
Unfortunately...Marcus, Nathan, Ashley and Bianca managed 64.
Reports describe it as "being taken to the cleaners."
The cleaners have denied any involvement. Marcus claimed court honours with another flawless 18 points.
Court 7
Court 7 stayed with the traditional TNT format. Noah, Tom, Joh and Dan battled it out all evening. Sadly Dan suffered a calf injury. We wish you a speedy recovery, Dan. Hopefully you're back before Noah finishes explaining why that last shot was definitely in.
Courts 8 & 9
Ty, Brad, Michael and Garry finished with 58 points, defeating Matt B, Ben, Carolin and Roman on 49. Brad collected the full 18 points.
Some say he was everywhere.Others insist there were actually two Brads. Investigations are ongoing.
Courts 3 & 4
Miles, Levi, Jai and Craig B combined for a very respectable 56 points. Unfortunately they ran into the steam train known as Reagan, Maso, Stacey and Fernando, who piled on 63 points.
Court honours went to Maso, who appears to have decided that winning matches wasn't enough... he'd like the competition lead as well. Mission accepted.
Well ladies and gentlemen... That's where the competition stands.
With only three weeks remaining, even the bookmakers have had enough. Sportsbet and TAB have officially refused to predict a winner. Their spokesperson simply said... "We've seen TNT before."
Will Maso hang on? Can Jai fight back? Will Redo launch a late-season raid? Or will someone come charging home from the pack like a bloke who just realised the BBQ has started?
Only time will tell. Until next week...
