Spent a weekend recently down at shoal bay - took a rod for a quick flick for bream and flatties off the jetty but when a few Tailor were caught next to me the plan changed. With no metal lures, the soft plastics had to do and they worked a charm. Caught a few Tailor on the 3" grub in watermelon red, then this little trevally came and said hello to the 4" paddle tail in the bleak colour

New Lure Alert - If you have been lucky enough to have a flattie hooked up and had a big girl follow it in and take a swipe at it, then you know that these awesome fish will take anything, including their own.

So that is why I’m stoked to be releasing the flatty lure. First round of colours will be a dusky and pearl white (Got a colour you would like to see, let me know) Best rigged with a weedless jig head, skipping these across the sand flats and broken weedbeds, you are bound to land a big haul of fish.

With the rain due this week I worked on creating a dark brown pattern for the probable water colour. An hour of casting today and three fish were caught with the biggest flathead going 44cm
