Last week several members of FCC participated in the Frank Harrison Memorial Race up at Albury. Whilst they were slogging it out, face paced, Gayle Neil and Myself were spending three days cruising, relaxing and camping between the Hume Weir and Corowa. This was not a trip just for the select few, it was open to any members that wanted to take up such an opportunity by Stew. I encourage all that when the opportunity comes again, get on board and enjoy as we did.

Three club members have decided to do some canoe touring practice by doing a 3 day trip from Hume Weir to Corowa. It looks like it will be a great trip, the weather is good and the river flowing well.

A magnificent turn out to today’s 2026 Saltwater Canoe Classic event. Today’s successes are contributed to an excellent near record number of registered participants blended with the efforts of all our volunteers to bring this all together. To the paddlers who travelled many miles from regional areas around Victoria to paddle here today, your support is truly appreciated.
Congrats and thank you to all that made today a great success.

With the current heat conditions forecast this afternoon and the river to emulate something like below, we have cancelled tonights racing and recreational paddle groups.

Ayson's Reserve Paddle. On the way back from the Echuca Mini some Footscray canoe Club members stopped off at Rochester to view the silo art, and then on to Ayson’s Reserve near Elmore for a pleasant paddle on the Campaspe River. Unlike previous paddles at Ayson’s Reserve, this time the paddlers went upstream for about an hour (covering about 6.5 Km and about 2 Km short of Elmore). When paddling on the Campaspe at Ayson’s Reserve you have to take it easy and be on the lookout for tree trunks that have been cut off at the waterline, but that is ok, as it was a pleasant paddle with lots to see.

Thank you to all our wonderful competitors that came to Footscray to paddle today's Salty Single Blader event in what could only be described as PERFECT conditions. Thanks also to all our volunteers that made the event run so professional and efficient.
