Today 32 members played in the sporters club competition. We welcomed new members Rolo Davey, Jack Edwards and Dean Charles. 👏👏

While we played on recently renovated greens it did not stop great scoring.

The winner on 28 points was Craig Barsby. It was unfortunate that he won because he was on his way to a world record handicap. 🤣🤣

Runner up was Gary Deacon on a countback from 3 others on 26 points.

Pinshots won by Oscar Reynolds, Ben Janetzki, Steve Kurta and Gary Deacon.

Raffle winners were Craig Barsby, Gavin Fielder, Wayne Elliott, Gary Deacon, Steve Kurta and Paul Alexander.

Another reminder of presentation night on 28 November so please ensure your name is on the nomination form.

A number of years ago I nicknamed much loved member Noel Rogers "Pinshot" as he was always winning pinshots.

But after today he may be known as Noel "Trees" Rogers. His ball found 3 trees on different holes that I photographed. Two were unplayable. See photos below.

Yesterday 39 members played in the sporters club monthly medal proudly sponsored by Gavin, Kelly and Luna from the proshop. 👏👏

The popular winner on 29 points was Steve Kurta. I played in the same group and witnessed a great round. Runner up on 26 points was Shane Simpson and third President Ian Janetzki on 25 points.

Pinshots won by Dakota Morgan x2, Mark Carter x2, Brian Wells x2, Andy Tumoi, Steve Kurta and Jacob Gibbs.

Raffle winners were Noel Cavanagh, Brian Wells x2, Dakota Morgan, Grant Armour and Craig Barsby.

Meat trays won by Baden Eggmolesse, Noel Rogers and Noel Cavenagh.

A round of applause was given to new grandparents Andy and Carla Tumoi, mum Mariana and dad Lachlan on the arrival of a little boy. May good luck and good health follow him always. ❤️

⛳ KESTREL CHARITY GOLF DAY ⛳

What an incredible result from the Kestrel Charity Golf Day, held on Saturday, 12 September!

An outstanding $80,000 was donated to charities and community organisations across Emerald and our surrounding communities! A fantastic contribution that will make a genuine difference to so many local groups.

A massive thank you to Kestrel Coal Resources and the Kestrel Charity Golf Day Committee for the tireless work that goes into making this event such a success each year. Your continued generosity and commitment to supporting our region is greatly appreciated.

The Emerald Golf Club is incredibly proud to host an event that brings people together for a great day of golf while giving so much back to the community.

Today a highly talented field of 26 members played in the sporters club competition.

Welcome to new member Jhett Fouracre and the legendary Henry Cave.

The winner was Pete Bailey on 28 points after a 2 over par 37. His best round in 2 years.

Runner up was Darrin Rolfe on 26 points.

Pinshots won by Mr Skinner, Karl Janetzki, Tony Ronnfeldt and Liam Chapple.

Raffle winners were Piri Skipworth, George Hatchett x2 who donated his winnings back at request of his family, Mick Stanton, Pete Bailey and Gary Deacon.

Meat trays won by Mick Stanton, Pete Bailey and Denis Kiely.

My play of the day goes to the member who got to the first tee ready to win the competition. One problem....forgot to bring his clubs. 😳

This Saturday is the Kestrel Charity Golf Day and sporters club have been requested to decorate the proshops golf buggies. If you can help please be at the club at 7am. Sporters will recieve a handsome donation for our efforts.

Attention all Wednesday sporters club members.

Saturday 28 November is our presentation night at the club. Seated by 6:30pm.

In addition to prizes being awarded we will enjoy a beautiful meal and dessert. The meal is free and there will be a bar tab. The night is open to members, wives, partners and children.

Whether you played two games or 42 this is a night for you and loved ones.

A sheet will be put on the noticeboard near the sporters bar next week so we know how many to cater for. I have put some names on the sheet who I know are attending. Please review and add the number in your party.

So who win the coveted most pin shots award? Will it be a three peat for Karl Janetzki?

The George Hatchett Memorial Trophy for the winner of the medal final will be announced.

Hope you can attend to celebrate a club in its 55th and growing stronger.

⛳ ANOTHER COURSE IMPROVEMENT AT EGC!

A big day of work at the club today, with 33 metres of concrete, generously donated by the Sporters Club, laid in front of the machinery shed on the 18th. It’s come up fantastic! 👏

Today an amazing 47 players competed in the sporters club competition. 👏👏

We welcomed new members Rick Bichel, Callum Waddell, Joey Taylor Snr and Callum Ryan. 👏👏

Special mention of Chopper and Carolyn Jacobson who stopped by for a game. This Saturday is a special event at Blackwater golf course to honour Choppers late dad Mike. After the game Mike's ashes will be spread over the 6th green. A fitting tribute to a man who redefine the word legend. RIP Mike. ❤️

The first time winner was Steele Childs on 26 points on a countback from Gary Deacon. All winnings donated back.

Pinshots won by Tony Ronnfeldt, Mark Carter, Mick Stanton and Shaun Parter. All winnings donated back.
