Winter naturally invites us to slow down, rest and turn inward

While this can be deeply nourishing, too much stillness can sometimes leave us feeling heavy, sluggish or unmotivated.

This simple Kundalini-inspired sequence is one of my favourite ways to gently awaken the body and encourage the flow of energy during the cooler months.

✨ Ego Eradicator
✨ Life Nerve Stretch
✨ Cross Crawl
✨ Cat-Cow
✨ Washing Machine

Together these movements help stimulate circulation, mobilise the spine, awaken the nervous system and encourage energy to move throughout the body.

The intention isn’t to go against the qualities of winter or force yourself into productivity. It’s to honour the season while maintaining balance and vitality.

Try the sequence and notice how you feel afterwards.

Winter invites us to slow down, rest and turn inward.

In Yoga and Ayurveda, each season brings different qualities that can influence our body and mind. During winter, tamasic energy naturally increases, supporting rest, stability and deep nourishment.

When tamas becomes excessive, however, it can leave us feeling heavy, sluggish or stuck.

One of the ways I like to maintain balance during the cooler months is through gentle movement, breath and routine. Not to fight the season, but to support the natural flow of energy through the body.

Swipe through to learn more, and keep an eye out for my next video where I’ll share a simple energising sequence you can practise at home.

One of my favourite Ayurvedic self-care rituals is using a Kansa Wand

Traditionally made from a blend of copper and tin, the Kansa Wand has been used in Ayurveda as a tool to support relaxation and circulation

I love incorporating it into my routine as an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with myself.

Some of the benefits may include:
Supporting circulation
Balancing skins PH
Encouraging lymphatic flow
Relaxing facial tension
Promoting a healthy glow

While the physical benefits are amazing, what I appreciate most is the ritual itself. It honestly just feels soo good and relaxing. .

In our sometimes chaotic and busy lives, taking a few minutes to care for ourselves can be just the medicine we need.

Full Moon Blessings 🌕

The energy of this moon is growth and upward energy.
Trust that periods of change are not the end, but the beginning of new growth. Follow your desires, with persistence, devotion and courage. Trust in the unfolding of your journey.

In yogic traditions, the left nostril is associated with Ida Nadi, the more cooling, calming and receptive energy channel within the body.

This simple practice may help support the nervous system, quiet mental activity and create a greater sense of grounding and calm.

Try taking 3 slow, deep breaths in and out through the left nostril and simply notice how you feel afterwards or maybe you would like to aim for 3 minutes

Remember that sometimes it’s the smallest practices that can create the biggest shift ✨

Breath is one of our most foundational sources of energy, both within the physical body and on a subtler energetic level. Every practice, every shift, begins with the breath

In yoga and Ayurveda, different pranayama (breathing practices) can be used to create different effects within the body and mind, helping to bring the doshas back into balance.

For Vata: Nadi Shodhana to calm and ground the nervous system.
For Pitta: Sitali to cool, soften and ease internal heat.
For Kapha: Kapalabhati to energise, clear stagnation and awaken vitality.

Balance is never fixed — our needs can shift from day to day. Learning to observe how you feel and choosing practices intentionally can be a powerful way to support greater balance and awareness.
