Our Facebook group has updates including upcoming training, gates and racing, BMX items for sale, general club information and photos of some of the fun times had by our club members. Getting started in BMX doesn't have to be costly. You can start out on your street bike, wear long sleeved pants and a long-sleeved top, closed-in shoes and socks, gloves and a full-face helmet. The club has spare gloves and helmets to help you out in the beginning. Your street bike might need a couple of modifications for safety (removing reflectors, bells, pegs etc). We can help you out and get you started safely. To race you will need to have a current AusCycling license which you can purchase online at AusCycling | Memberships. Licences are compulsory before you can race. You will need at least a “Race Off-Road Licence”. Volunteering opportunities: Race nights cannot go ahead without Qualified Officials. This is an easy online course through AusCycling, and you will also need a Blue Card (Working With Children Check) to link to your accreditation. For more information please see Kate (Registrar). We NEED VOLUNTEERS to make racing happen. There are many roles you can help with to keep racing happening smoothly and keep your rider racing. Without volunteers we can’t take to the track and race nights will not go ahead. Volunteer Level 1 Official roles:
Staging (organising the riders for their race, calling out their gate)
Berms/Flags (communicates with the Starter that the track is safe and clear for the next race)
First Aid (assists any fallen rider, must hold a current senior first aid certificate)
Gate starter (operates the gate on the start hill)
Canteen (keeping the club fed and hydrated)

🌎🇦🇺 2026 BMX World Championships Rider Send-Off 🇦🇺🌎
Central Highlands BMX is proud to support our riders who have earned the chance to represent our club, region, and Australia at the 2026 BMX World Championships in Brisbane.
Join us on Friday, 26 June, as we give our Worlds riders a great send-off before they head off to compete. Come along to wish them luck, show your support, and celebrate the hard work that got them there.
We’d love to see all riders, families, members, and supporters there to cheer on our team before they take on the worlds.
Good luck to all our riders—we can’t wait to follow your journey and see you wearing the Australian jersey 💚💛

🚲 Club Championship Update 🏁

To our BMX family,

Unfortunately, due to a range of competing factors, we have made the difficult decision to postpone our Club Championship night until later in the year.

We know many of our riders and families were looking forward to this event, and we're disappointed to make this change.

Our committee will work on a new date, and we'll share the details as soon as they're confirmed so you can mark them in your calendars.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support of our club. We can't wait to celebrate the achievements of our riders and come together for a fantastic Club Championship event later this year.

Stay tuned for more updates!
