The Australian Rowing Team’s build towards LA28 has taken another positive step following the Rowsellas’ five-medal haul at the 2026 World Rowing Championships.

The three silver and two bronze medals won by the Rowsellas in Amsterdam was a fitting finale to an international season that saw 28 medals won across our Senior, Australia A, Under 23 and Under 19 Teams.

The success from this year is a reflection of the efforts and commitment of our High Performance athletes, coaches and staff, progress that has all been made possible by the support of Hancock Prospecting and RA Patron Mrs Gina Rinehart AO.

More work will be done in the push towards LA28 and Brisbane 2032, and Rowing Australia is grateful for the support of Hancock Prospecting, the Australian Institute of Sport, the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Government and all our partners along this journey.

The two-day Coastal Rowing camp held in the Gold Coast ahead of the Australian & Oceania Beach Sprints Rowing Championships has delivered great outcomes for athletes and coaches across the Pacific region.

Throughout the camp, athletes trained in coastal boats under the World Rowing coaching team and Rowing Australia coaches, gaining expert advice on Coastal Rowing as they work towards their Olympic dream.

Several of the athletes will now compete in the Australian and Oceania Beach Sprints Championships starting tomorrow! 💪

The 2026 Australian & Oceania Beach Sprints Rowing Championships promises to be an exhilarating four days of competition, with some of the best coastal rowers from across Australia and the Oceania region descending on the sands of the Gold Coast from 3rd September!

Coinciding with the AOBSC will be the Australian trials for the Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Dakar, Senegal from 31 October this year, as well as trials for the Rowsellas Beach Sprint Team who will represent Australia at the 2026 World Rowing Beach Sprints Finals in Qingdao, China - adding further excitement to the Championships!
