🔥 ATHLETE RECAP - Nick 🔥

Nick competed in his very first competition at at just 16 years old and absolutely smashed it!

We’ve been training together since 2023 when he was only 13 years old and wanted to use the gym as a form of gender affirming care. During that time, we’ve really focused on building his foundations and growing his strength. He trains 2x per week and is so on point with his training.

My main priority for his first meet was to ensure he had a positive day of 9/9 or at least 8/9, taking into account one missed lift from a missed command, which is what happened in his 2nd squats when he accidentally racked too early.

Given that sometimes Nick gets overstimulated and was wrapping his head around commands with his lifting, we decided to opt for easier numbers to get the numbers on the board and walk away feeling positive about it.

That’s exactly what happened - he sent me a message after saying he was on such a high from the comp and is ready for his next.

Nick walked away with a 180KG total
✅ - 55KG Squat

✅ - 52.5KG Bench

✅ - 72.5KG Deadlift

I’m so so proud of him for committing to a competition and walking away feeling proud of himself for his accomplishments. I’m incredibly proud of him and I cannot wait for his next one!!

The Queens of the Platform competition will have NO weigh-ins ❌

And the reason is clear:

A lot of women do not want to weigh themselves. They don’t want to know how much they weigh and also don’t want others to know, especially when it’s on a screen for everyone to see.

When you want to progress with your Powerlifting journey, you will have to be weighed to compete - that’s unavoidable; however, for a competition like this, I don’t see the point in having weigh ins.

The barrier to entry for this competition will always remain low to ease anxieties and ensure people are comfortable. I don’t want people comparing themselves to others based on how much they weigh and how much they’re lifting.

The point of Queens of the Platform is to celebrate all women in their strength and come together to have fun and lift.

The top 3 places will be determined by total, so your only requirement is to come on the day and lift as much as you can.

The options are:
✅ - 3-Lift (Squat, Bench, Deadlift)

✅ - Push/Pull (Bench and Deadlift)

✅ - Bench Only

✅ - Deadlift Only

If you’re wanting to participate in a 3-Lift, head to my bio to sign up.

If you’re wanting to participate in Push/Pull, Bench Only or Deadlift Only, send me a DM.

I’m excited to see you whether that be to compete or come along to cheer everyone on!

👑 QUEENS OF THE PLATFORM 👑

What made me decide to run a Women’s Only Powerlifting meet was simple - I could see there was a gap between the sanctioned and novice space and I wanted to create a meet that like minded and strong women can come together to lift heavy and celebrate one another!

The charity I have partnered with is the and what they’re working towards strongly aligns with my own values with women in the workforce. I’ll be creating another video explaining this more in depth, but a portion of the competition fees and T-shirts I’ll be bringing out will be donated to them!

I’ll be making more videos in the coming weeks about the meet in more depth!

The response and support for the Queens of the Platform has been amazing so I’m really looking forward to seeing you there, whether you’re competing or coming along to cheer everyone on!

If you have any questions about the comp, then let me know.
