THANK YOU to everyone who made this weekend’s Push/Pull for Puppies event awesome. I haven’t seen the official total yet, but we were able to raise a bunch of money for a great cause, with 100% of the proceeds going to America’s VetDogs.

The Olympic lifts and their variations are some of the best tools we have for increasing an athlete’s power production. The ability to produce force quickly plays a major role in sprint speed, jump height, change of direction, throwing velocity, and pretty much anything else an athlete wants to do on a field or court. So, some pretty cool things happen when you take a coach who knows how to effectively train the Olympic lifts and give them a track team.

Sarah’s been working with Carroll T&F since the end of fall, and even while training through indoor and outdoor season, athletes made awesome progress. Marshall (front) PR’d his 100m time by a half second. Carter (back) improved his 400m hurdle time every single week this spring season.

Lots more to come from this group, we’re looking forward to our first full offseason!

Sometimes the scale doesn’t tell the whole story. Since beginning nutrition coaching with Kelley, Tom’s bodyweight has stayed roughly the same. But, he’s also lost over an inch on his waist while building muscle mass and PRing every lift. Most importantly, it’s been through changes that helped improve his habits and are sustainable long-term. Improving body composition is less about extreme dieting and more about building strength, adding muscle, and creating better eating habits that stick long-term.

Keeley and Becky spent their Saturday morning in Manassas at USAPL Virginia’s Battle at Bull Run.

Keeley broke through the 300lb deadlift barrier, getting this 303 pull on her 3rd attempt.

Becky hit this 75kg/165lb bench on her third attempt to finish with a bodyweight bench press

Our Youth Athlete Program combines expert strength and conditioning to improve performance, boost confidence, and help reduce the risk of sports-related injuries. Starting June 15th, we’ll be expanding to our summer hours to include both morning and evening training sessions.
